There will be an exhibition in the Health Centre from 10th to 23rd September 1997. Blood tests for markers of the hepatitis A and B virus will be made available to students, staff, and their dependants for $100 on 11th and 12th September. If necessary, they can be vaccinated on 22nd and 23rd September at $200 per dose for hepatitis A, and $100 per dose for hepatitis B. 預 防 痳 疹 、 腮 腺 炎 及 德 國 痳 疹 運 動 Anti-Measles, M u m p s, and Rubella Camp a i gn 保健處爲配合衛生署的痲疹預防計劃，由七月廿八日至十一月廿九日，爲一至十 九歲的學生及敎職員家屬，免費注射痲疹、腮腺炎及德國痲疼混合針加強劑。 注射時間爲逢星期一、三、四、五上午九時半至中午十二時和下午二至四時。每 日注射名額則爲上午五十，下午四十。 To match the Department of Health's anti-measles campaign, free vaccinations against measles, mumps and rubella will be given by the University Health Service to students and staff dependants aged between one and 19. Vaccination sessions are run from 9.30 a.m. to noon and 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 28th July to 29th November 1997. The quota for the morning session is 50, and the afternoon session, 40. 敎職員及配偶國粤語課程 Putonghua and Cantonese Courses for Staff and Spouses 新雅中國語文硏習所由一九九七年九月十六日至十二月二日於方樹泉樓再度爲本 校敎職員及其配偶舉辦下列國粤語課程，上課時間暫定星期二及四下午五時至六時五十 分。 (一）供外籍敎職員及其配偶選修之初級國語課程。 (二）供外籍敎職員及其配偶選修之初級粤語課程。 (三）供粤籍敎職員及其配偶選修之初級國語課程。 (四）供非粤籍敎職員及其配偶選修之初級粤語課程。 以上各課程每班限額八名，按報名先後取錄，少於四人不開班。學費全期六千 元，聘任期不少於兩年之本校全職敎職員及其配偶，如未獲其他語言學習資助者，可獲 大學津貼學費百分之四十。 有意就學者，請於一九九七年九月九日前與該硏習所聯絡（內線六七二七）。 The New Asia-Yale-in-China Chinese Language Centre will again offer Putonghua and Cantonese courses to the University's staff and their spouses from 16th September to 2nd December 1997. The following courses have been tentatively scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday from 5.00 p.m. to 6.50 p.m. at the Fong Shu Chuen Building: (1) Beginner's course in Putonghua for foreigners; (2) Beginner's course in Cantonese for foreigners; (3) Beginner's course in Putonghua for non-Putonghua speakers of Chinese origin; (4) Beginner's course in Cantonese for non-Cantonese speakers of Chinese origin. The size of each class will be limited to eight students and participants will be enrolled on a first-come-first-served basis. The minimum number of students to form a class is four. Basic tuition fee for each course is HK$6,000. The University will subsidize 40 per cent of the tuition fee for all full-time academic and administrative staff as well as their spouses who are expected to be with the University for at least two years, and who are not receiving a language study subsidy from any other source. For enrolment, please contact the Chinese Language Centre at Ext. 6727 before 9th September 1997. 中大通訊 CUHK Newsletter 4 暑 期 特刊 一九九七年八月十九日 Summer Supplement 19th August 1997 大學 游泳池開放時間 University Swimming Pool News 大學游泳池已延長開放時間如下： 星期四至星期二 星期三 第一節： 上午八時至下午一時四十分 上午八時至下午時四十分 第二節： 下午二時三十分至七時 下午二時三十分至七時十五分 第三節： 晚上七時三十分至九時 晚上八時至十時十分 星期日及公眾假期照常開放。上述開放時間有效至九月七日止。 另，游泳池第一及第二水線於八月廿二、廿六、廿九日及九月二日和五日，由晚 上七時三十分至九時供中大泳隊練習，可能對其他游泳人士構成不便。 • The University Swimming Pool is open seven days a week including public holidays. From now to 7th September, the opening hours are (i) 8.00 a.m. to 1.40 p.m. (ii) 2.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. and (iii) 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. every day from Thursday to Tuesday. Opening hours for Wednesday during the period are (i) 8.00 a.m. to 1.40 p.m. (ii) 2.30 p.m. to 7.15 p.m., and (iii) 8.00 p.m. to 10.10 p.m. • The first and second lanes of the pool will be reserved for swimming practice of the University swimming teams from 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday between 12th August and 5th September (except 19th August). 馬料水閘口開放時間 Revised Opening Hours of Ma Liu Shui Entrance 校方在馬料水碼頭鄰近設立之閘口，已由八月一日起獲政府確認爲進入中大校園 的第三個通道。 爲保障單車徑之公眾安全，運輸局亦決定由同日起，實施下列的閘口開放時間： 星期一至五：上午七時至晚上九時 星期六：上午七時至中午十二時 星期日及公眾假期：全日關閉 From 1 St August 1997, the University entrance at Ma Liu Shui Pier is officially recognized by the government as a third access to the University campus. The entrance is open from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. It is closed on Sunday and public holidays. 泊車管制措施 Policy on Parking Enforcement 根據一九八九年生效的香港法例第三七四章《道路交通（私家路泊車）條例》，校 方可依法管制校園內之交通及泊車情況，並扣押、拖走或處置違例車輛。 「私家路」一如其他道路，受警方管制；惟校方只要符合道路交通法例所訂明之規 格，也有權管制校園交通、泊車及停車之各項設施及標誌。 保安組獲大學行政事務委員會授權，執行保安委員會制訂之各項交通管制、鎖車 及拖車等程序。 同人申領「車輛登記證」時，均獲發大學交通條例及「敎職員車輛登記證總則」， 而所有駕駛人士也須遵守在校園入口布告板公告之交通條例及泊車指示。 保安組在執行泊車管制時之優先次序爲： (甲）防止主要通道受到嚴重阻塞； (乙）維持特設警告黃線之「不准泊車」區域暢通； (丙）管制指定範圍以外地區之違例泊車情況；及 (丁）警告輕微違例者。 法例禁止不公平對待校外人士，惟執行法例時亦毋須先給予違例者警告。 (資料由保安組提供) From the Security Unit The Road Traffic (Parking on Private Roads) Ordinance, Cap. 374, which took effect in 1989 ， empowers the University to enforce traffic and parking control within the campus. The University can restrict access and parking, impound, remove, or dispose of offending vehicles in accordance with law. Private roads on campus are governed by the Road Traffic Ordinance, and hence under the jurisdiction of the police, except for the control of access and parking which may be vested with the University.
