全新網上資料庫 紀錄同人社會暨校內服務資料 A Web-basedDatabase to Record Staff Service to the Community and CUHK https://pubnta.pub.cuhk.edu.hk/pub/cas/cas.htm 簡單方便快捷易用 為全面而有系統地紀錄教職員的各項社會及校內 服務，校方已設立網上資料庫，供同人隨時輸 入及查閲各自的服務資料。 該 資 料 庫 系 統 已 於 本 月 正 式 運 作 ， 所 有 高 級導 師，副講師職級或以上的教師，以及甲類(或相類)服 務條款的職員，各有個人戶口，可輸入於一九九九年 八月一日之後生效或仍然有效的校內外服務資料，包 括職銜、任期、服務機構名稱及服務性質等。 資 料 庫 由 行 政 資 料 處 理 組 開 發 ， 出 版 事 務 處管 理，網址為 https://pubnta.pub.cuhk.edu.hk/pub/cas/ c a s . h t m 。資料庫的資料全由同人自行提供和輸入，現 階段只會供教職員本人，所屬學系的系主任、學院/ 書 院 院 長 、 部 門 主 管 ， 以 及 校 長 室 查 閲 。 教 學 人員 可 於 年 終 列 印 該 年 輸 入 的 資 料 ， 呈 交 學 系 主 管 ，作 編纂學系周年紀錄（ Annual Departmenta l Records ) 之 用 。 資 料 庫 日 後 並 可 能 公 開 予 校 內 外 人 士 查 看， 屆時《中大通訊》內' Service t o th e Communit y an d International Organizations' 一欄亦將取消。 資料庫的設計方便易用，可同時紀錄和顯示中英 文 資 料 。 大 學 同 人 只 需 以 職 員 號 碼 及 校 園 電 子 郵件 系統密碼登入 ( l o g i n ) 資料庫(如右圖示），便可輸入、 查閲及整理自己的服務資料。 有關成立網上資料庫的通吿及介紹單張已於八月 十九日分發各系主任/ 部門主管，同人如尚未收到， 請向所屬學系/ 部門查詢。出版事務處與行政資料處 理組亦計劃於十月及十一月舉行工作坊，介紹如何在 網上把資料輸入資料庫，並解答疑問。 查詢請致電行政資料處理組黃燕容女士（內線八 九三一)或出版事務處陳偉珠女士（內線八五八六）。 A User-friendly System Try Your Hands on It Now A web-based programm e ha s been launched t o comprehensively captur e dat a o n staf f servic e to th e communit y an d th e University. Wi t h thi s programme th e University hope s t o compil e a n electronic director y o n staf f service tha t ma y eventually b e open for publi c viewing . Developed b y th e Information Managemen t Unit, th e programme i s user-friendly an d allow s individual staf f members t o input, amend , view , an d print thei r o w n dat a via th e Internet . A ll teacher s o f assistant lecture r ran k an d above , al l senio r instructors, an d al l non-teaching staf f o n terms o f service A (o r equivalen t terms ) have thei r o w n accounts i n thi s system , th e acces s to wh i c h i s controlled b y thei r staf f ID number s an d campus - w i de e-mai l passwords . Staff members ar e requested t o ente r servic e data tha t ar e effective o n or afte r 1s t August 1999 . A t th e end o f eac h academic year , they ca n prin t their servic e recor d from th e databas e an d submi t the printout s t o their departmen t chairme n for th e compilation o f annua l departmenta l records . This i s an on-going exercis e an d information i s supplied entirel y b y staf f members themselves . The programme currentl y allow s individua l staf f members t o process an d view thei r o w n data . Late r i n Octobe r th e dat a w i ll als o be made availabl e t o relevant departmen t chairmen/facult y deans / college heads/head s o f majo r unit s an d th e Vice - Chancellor's Office . When th e databas e i s large enough , th e University ma y ope n it fo r publi c viewing . I t w i l l then serv e a s a useful vehicle fo r publicizin g th e contribution o f CUHK staf f members t o societ y an d the wide rang e o f thei r expertise . A separat e announcement w i l l the n be made an d th e existin g column o n 'Service t o th e Communit y an d International Organizations ' i n thi s Newsletter w i l l be cancelled.
