4 No. 174 4th December 2000 CUHK Newsletter 宣布事項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 新任講座教授 Professorial Appo i n tment 大學委任陳烜之教授 為心理學講座教授，任期 由二零零零年十月一日起 生效。 陳教授在台灣天主教 輔仁大學畢業後，負笈美 國，於一九七九及八二年依次取得加州州立 大學碩士學位和堪薩斯大學博士學位。 陳教授在科羅拉多大學心理學系當博士後研究員一年，一九八三年加入本校服 務，並先後於九零及九五年升任高級講師和教授。 他是美國心理學會、心理規律學會和認知科學學會的成員，並協助編輯五份學 術期刊。他的研究興趣為中國人語言習得和雙語語彙處理。他去年獲輔仁大學傑出 校友獎。 Prof. Chen Hsuan Chih was appointed professor of psychology from 1st October 2000. Prof. Chen obtained his BA in educational psychology from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan in 1977, his MA in experimental psychology from California State University in 1979, and his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from the University of Kansas in 1982. He joined The Chinese University as lecturer in psychology in 1983, becoming senior lecturer in 1990, and reader in 1995. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Psychonomic Society, and the Cognitive Science Society. His research interests include language processing in Chinese and bilingualism. 兩位院長續任 Reelection of Faculty Dean and Reappointment of College Head •電子工程學講座教授程伯中教授獲選續任工程學院院長，任期三年，由二零零一 年一月一日起生效。 •地理學講座教授楊汝萬教授再度獲委任為逸夫書院院長，任期三年，由二零零一 年二月十一日起生效。 • In accordance with Statute 15.3 and 15.4 of the University Ordinance, Prof. Ching Pak- chung, professor of electronic engineering, was reelected as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for a term of three years from 1 st January 2001. • In accordance with Statute 9.1 and 9.3 of the University Ordinance, Prof. Yeung Yue-man, professor of geography, was reappointed by the University Council as Head of Shaw College for a further period of three years from 11th February 2001. From 16th January to 17th April 2001 the following courses have been tentatively scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday from 5.00 p.m. to 6.50 p.m. at the Fong Shu Chuen Building: (1) Beginner's course in putonghua for non-speakers. (2) Beginner's course in Cantonese for non-speakers. (3) Beginner's course in putonghua for speakers of other Chinese dialects. (4) Beginner's course in Cantonese for speakers of other Chinese dialects.
