4 No. 176 4th January 2001 CUHKNewsletter 宣布事項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 大學規程修訂 Amendments to University Statutes 《香港中文大學規程》之規程 14 及 26 最近經修訂，以 (一)容許代表大學每一書院的學生會的一名學生加入成為大學教務會成員；及 (二)使大學可頒授新設的中醫學碩士 (M.Chi.Med.) 學位。 Statutes 14 and 26 of the Statutes of The Chinese University of Hong Kong have recently been amended to provide for (a) the admission of one student representing the Students Union of each College of the University to Senate membership; and (b) the conferring of a new degree, the Master of Chinese Medicine (M.Chi.Med.) degree, by the University. 中大刊物網上瀏覽捷徑 Click 'University Publications' to View University Publications 中大的主網頁最近新增 ' University Publications' 一欄，方便同人瀏覽各種大 學刊物的電子版，包括《中文大學校刊》，《中大通訊》，《香港中文大學概況》， 《香港中文大學年報》，講座教授就職演講專輯，偉倫訪問教授講座專輯，以及 中大概覽及統計資料。同人如有任何建議，無任歡迎。 A new entry on 'University Publications' has recently been inserted on the University's homepage to facilitate access to the various electronic publications of the University. They include The CUHKAnnual Report, the Chinese University Bulletin, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Calendar, CUHK Newsletter, CUHK Facts and Figures, the Professorial Inaugural Lecture Series, and the Wei Lun Lecture Series. Colleagues are welcome to leave their comments and suggestions in the mail box attached. 聯合書院新校董 New Members of the United College Board of Trustees 聯合書院公布曹家昌博士、顧爾言先生及黃義華先生已加入該院校董會， 任期三年，由二零零零年十二月一日起生效。 曹家昌博士為「互聯通網絡有限公司」創辦人兼主席。曹博士畢業於美國加州 理工學院，後於普林斯頓大學取得生物物理學博士學位，一九七八至九零年間在 香港中文大學任教，隸屬聯合書院。 顧爾言先生畢業於香港中文大學，獲文學士及工商管理碩士學位，現為中 華電力總經理。他曾出任怡和太平洋集團董事及怡和旅運集團行政總裁，主管 集團內多項亞太區貿易及銷售業務，目前是教育統籌委員會成員及優質教育基 金督導委員會主席。 黃義華先生曾於一九六一年四月至六三年七月期間，出任聯合書院學務 長，並以署理身分擔任副校長、理學院院長、數學系主任等職務。聯合書院能 於短短十五個月內，達到符合《富爾敦報告書》的條件而成為香港中文大學之成 員，黃先生功不可沒。 Dr. Wilson K.C. Cho, BS, PhD; Mr. Irving Y.Y. Koo, SBS, JP; and Mr. Wong Yee Wa, BSc have been admitted to the Board of Trustees of United College for three years from 1st December 2000. Dr. Wilson K.C. Cho is the founder and chairman of ChinaLink Networks Ltd., a leading Internet infrastructure company operating in China and Hong Kong. He has held faculty positions at Cornell University from 1977 to 1978 and The Chinese University from 1978 to 1990, affiliated to United College. A graduate of The Chinese University, Mr. Irving Y.Y. Koo is at present general manager of China Light and Power Co. Ltd. Prior to this, he was a director of the Jardine Pacific Group and chief executive of the Jardine Travel Group. Mr. Koo is also a member of the Education Commission and chairman of the Steering Committee of the Quality Education Fund. Mr. Wong Yee-wa served as the Academic Registrar of United College from April 1961 to July 1963. For essential service units such as the University Health Service, the University Library System, the Computer Operations Section of the Information Technology Services Centre, the Security Unit, the Transport Unit, and the Estates Management Office, a task force should remain on duty to provide basic services. 2. For all other offices in the University, a skeleton crew should be appointed to be on duty on that morning to handle urgent matters and enquiries. These offices will be closed in the afternoon. 3. The skeleton staff on duty on that morning will be given compensation leave of half a day. StaffBus Arrangements Subscribers to the University staff bus service should note that the Transport Unit has arranged for the homing staff bus to leave the John Fulton Centre car park at 12.55 p.m. on Chinese New year's Eve (23rd January 2001). 聖經之友講座 A Friends of Bible Lecture 崇基神學組「聖經研究及出版事工」與國際聖經協會將於本月七日下午二時 半至五時半合辦「聖經之友•講座四」，主題為「死海古卷與我何干？昆蘭群體 眼中的聖經」，由覃國元博士主講，岑紹麟博士回應。 講座假油麻地加士居道四十號循道衛理聯合教會九龍堂舉行，費用全免， 查詢請致電神學組陳小姐(二六零九六七零八）。 A Friends of Bible Lecture jointly organized by the Biblical and Publication Programme of the Theology Division of Chung Chi College and the International Bible Society will be held on 7th January 2001 from 2.30 to 5.30 p.m. at the Kowloon Methodist Church (40 Gascoigne Road). Dr. Chum Kwok-yuen will speak on 'Dead Sea Scroll: What Is That to Me ?' and talk about the Qumran Community and the Bible. Dr. Shum Siu-lun will give a response. Admission is free.
