Staff members w i th changes in address or telephone number should also no t i fy the Pe r s onnel O f f i ce i n w r i t i n g. The ' Ch a n ge o f Personal Da t a' f o r m is obtainable f r om the Personnel O f f i ce (Tel. 2609 7189), or may be downloaded f r om its website ( http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/personnel). Change o f p e r s o n al data may have i mp l i c a t i o ns on the a p p o i n t e e s' entitlement to benefits at the Un i v e r s i t y. Be l ow are some examples: Fringe Benefits* Examples of Changes in Personal Data Affecting Eligibility for Benefits Children's education allowances • New-borns should be reported so as to include them as eligible members. Housing benefits • Change of family size (e.g. marital status/new-boms) should be reported as it may affect the rates of Private Tenancy Allowance. • Change of marital status/spouse's employment should be reported for clearance of the Rules for the Prevention of Double Housing Benefits. Passages • New-borns should be reported so as to include them as eligible members. Medical benefits • Spouse of newly married staff and new-borns may be included as eligible members under the Staff Medical Benefits Scheme. • Dependent children aged between 19 and 21 will be accepted as eligible members if they are in full-time education up to the level of a first degree. *Fringe benefits are provided in accordance with Letters of Appointment. 教職員及教職員配偶普通話和粤語課程 Putonghua and Cantonese Courses for Staff and Staff Spouses 新雅中國語文研習所訂於九月十一日至十一月二十九日於方樹泉樓再度為本 校教職員及其配偶舉辦下列語言課程,上課時間暫定每週二、四下午五時至六時 五十分。 ( 一)供外籍教職員及其配偶選修之初級普通話課程。 ( 二)供外籍教職員及其配偶選修之初級粵語課程。 ( 三)供粵籍教職員及其配偶選修之初級普通話課程。 ( 四)供非粵籍教職員及其配偶選修之初級粵語課程。 以上課程每班限額八人,按報名先後取錄,少於五人不開班。學費全期六千 三百二十港元,凡聘任期不少於兩年之本校全職教職員及其配偶,如未獲任何語 言修習資助者,可獲大學津貼學費四成。有意就學者,請於九月五日前與該研習 所聯絡(電話二六零九六七二七)。 該所之資料可於網上(網址 h t t p : / / www . c u h k . e d u . h k / l a c ) 閱覽。 The New Asia-Yale-in-China Chinese Language Centre ( CLC) w i l l again offer putonghua and Cantonese courses to the Un i v e r s i t y 's staff and their spouses. F r om 11th September to 29th November 2001, the f o l l ow i ng courses have been t en t a t i v e ly scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday f r om 5.00 p.m. to 6.50 p.m. at the Fong Shu Chuen Bu i l d i n g: (1) Beginner's course in putonghua for non-speakers. (2) Beginner's course in Cantonese for non-speakers. (3) Beginner's course in putonghua for speakers o f other Chinese dialects. (4) Beginner's course in Cantonese for speakers o f other Chinese dialects. The size o f each class w i l l be l i m i t ed to eight students. The m i n i m um number o f students to f o rm a class is five. Enrolment w i l l be on a first-come- first-served basis. Basic tuition fee for each course is HK$6,320. The University w i l l subsidize 40 per cent o f the t u i t i on fee for all f u l l - t i me academic and administrative staff, as we ll as their spouses, who are expected to be w i t h the Un i v e r s i ty for at least t wo years, and who are not receiving a language study subsidy f r om any other source.
