宣 布 事 項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 新任理學院院長 New Dean of Science 生物系關海山教授獲選為理學院院長，任期三年，由二零零六年八月一日至二 零零九年七月三十一日。 Prof. Kwan Hoi-shan of the Department of Biology has been elected dean of science for a term of office of three years from 1st August 2006 to 31st July 2009. 教職員免費校巴通吿 Free Staff Shuttle Bus Service 大學於六至八月提供不收費專用校巴服務，以方便教職員往來火車站與辦公 室，故其行車班次與大學上、下班時間配合。 該服務由二零零六年六月一日（星期四)起至八月卅一日（星期四)止，按下述時 間及路線行駛︰ 上行車（每班一車次） 星期一至六 上午八時卅分及 八時四十分 由方樹泉樓對面(中大校巴停泊處)往新亞書院，中途 停大學體育中心、潤昌堂、馮景禧樓及聯合書院。 下行車（每班一車次） 星期一至五 下午五時零五分及 五時二十分 由新亞書院往火車站，中途停聯合書院、大學行政樓、 五旬節會樓及大學體育中心。 星期六 中午十二時四十五分 星期日及公眾假期不收費專用校巴停止服務。查詢請電內線七九九零交通組。 由於火車站旁行人道加建上蓋工程在暑期進行，在五月十四日至七月三十一 日，校巴服務特別安排如下： (一）校巴站將遷移對面馬路； (二）因施工原故，六月及七月上班時間(上午八時至九時)所有校巴暫停收費； (三）取消期內上午八時卅分及八時四十分的教職員免費校巴。 A free staff shuttle bus service is available in June, July and August. The purpose of the service is to facilitate staff members commuting between the train station and their offices. The free shuttle bus service for staff will begin on 1st June 2006 (Thursday) and end on 31st August 2006 (Thursday). The departure times and routes are as follows: Up Route (one bus per departure) Monday to Saturday 8.30 a.m. and 8.40 a.m. Opposite to Fong Shu Chuen Building (bus lay-by) to New Asia College, with intermediate stops at the University Sports Centre, Y.C. Liang Hall, Fung King-hey Building, and United College Down Route (one bus per departure) Monday to Friday 5.05 p.m. and 5.20 p.m. FromNew Asia College to train station, with intermediate stops at United College, University Administration Building, Pentecostal Mission Hall Complex, and University Sports Centre Saturday 12.45 p.m. The free staff shuttle bus service is not available on Sunday and public holidays. For enquiries, please call the Transport Unit at Ext. 7990. For enquiry, please contact the Payroll and Superannuation Unit at 2609 7236 or 2609 7251. 中大 DNA 技術鑒定中藥材研究計劃 最受市民喜愛 現於尖東展出 生物化學系邵鵬柱教授和生物系畢培曦 教授合作的「用 D N A 技術鑒定中藥 材」，獲市民選為最受歡迎的研究計劃，研究 內容現於尖東香港科學館展出，展期至八月 底。歡迎參觀。 香港科學館科訊廊主辦的「科學焦點」展 覽，用以介紹本地大學的科研計劃，尤其著 重探討對科學及社會有重大意義的新發現， 以激發市民對科學的興趣。展覽項目是由各 大學提交科研計劃簡介，上載於香港科學館 的網頁，供市民投票選出的。邵畢兩位教授 的合作研究，是最新獲市民選出的專題，展 覽由四月底開始，為期四個月。 一直以來，分辨中藥材的方法，是依靠 業界的經驗，從外型、顏色和味道來分辨。 可是，不少中藥材的外型相似，又有替代品 和贗品，難免出錯。由於生物都各有獨特的 脫氧核糖核酸 ( DNA ) 序列， DNA 成為最準 確的辨別方法。他們自一九九二年起，便開 展了用 DNA 技術鑒定中藥材的計劃，目標是 檢測《中國藥典》列載的四百多種常用中藥 材，並建立資料庫，成為中藥的檢定標準。 邵教授說：「我們每次檢定一種中藥材，更 會一併檢測相似、替代品和贗品，現在已完 成了四十多種。」 對於獲選為最受歡迎的展覽項目，邵教 授認為是港人普遍食用中藥材，有著切身關 係，而以 DNA 來檢測是高新科技，對普羅大 眾的吸引力較大。 展覽內容包括：以海報解述如何以 DNA 檢測中藥材；展出真假和近似的中藥，如 鱷魚肉和蜥蜴肉，尋骨風和白英等；播放 檢測過程的錄像片段，以及展示資料庫的 初版。 (左起）邵鵬柱教授、畢培曦教授、科學館總館長葉賜權先生、教育統籌 局首席教育主任（新界）梁兆強先生、理學院署理院長關海山教授和生物 化學系系主任馮國培教授主持展覽開幕禮 3 第二八零期 二零零六年六月四日
