第二八四期 二零零六年十月四日 No. 284 4th October 2006 5 大學校董會主席和成員續任 Council Chairmanship and Membership 大學校董會主席鄭維健博士的任期於二零零六年十月二十三日屆滿,經張 昌博士提議, 郭志樑先生和議,並依據香港中文大學條例規程11第1(a)段及第3段規定,大學校董會再度 提名鄭博士,由監督委任,續任大學校董會主席,任期三年,由二零零六年十月二十四日 起生效。 利乾先生獲監督依據香港中文大學條例規程11第1(k)段及第4段指定,於其現屆任期屆滿後 續任大學校董,任期三年,由二零零六年十一月二十七日起生效。 The Council re-nominated Dr. Edgar W.K. Cheng for appointment by the Chancellor as Chairman of the Council for a further period of three years from 24th October 2006, in accordance with Statute 11.1(a) and 11.3 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, upon the expiry of his current term of office on 23rd October 2006, as proposed by Dr. Thomas H.C. Cheung and seconded by Mr. Karl C.L. Kwok. Mr. Chien Lee has been re-nominated by the Chancellor, in accordance with Statute 11.1(k) and 11.4 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinace, as Member of the Council for a further period of three years from 27th November 2006, upon the expiry of his current period of membership. 新任講座教授 Professorial Appointments 內科及藥物治療學講座教授 Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics 大學委任黃家星教授為內科及藥物治療學講座教授,任期由二零 零六年八月一日起生效。 黃教授於一九九九年取得新南威爾斯大學醫學博士學位,曾於本 港公立醫院行醫,一九九三年加入本校服務。 Prof. Lawrence Wong Ka-sing has been appointed professor of Medicine and Therapeutics from 1st August 2006. Prof. Wong obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 1999. He was a Croucher Foundation Fellow and he joined CUHK in 1993. 系統工程與工程管理學講座教授 Professor of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management 大學委任周迅宇教授為系統工程與工程管理學講座教授,任期由 二零零六年八月一日起生效。 周教授於一九八九年取得復旦大學哲學博士學位,曾於日本和加 拿大從事博士後研究,一九九三年加入本校服務。 Prof. Zhou Xunyu has been appointed professor of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management from 1st August 2006. A General Circular announcing the relevant arrangements has been issued to all department chairmen/school directors/academic unit heads and also uploaded to the Personnel Office website http://perntc.per.cuhk.edu.hk/personnel/ . Completed appraisal reports for each department/school/academic unit should be forwarded en bloc through the Faculty Dean concerned where applicable to the Personnel Office by 11th November 2006. The appraisers are reminded to make photocopies of the completed appraisal reports for retention by themselves as well as by the appraisees beforehand. Enquiries pertaining to the Appraisal Scheme may be directed to Ms. Margaret Koo, Personnel Manager (2609 7249) or Ms. Rosemary Chau, Assistant Personnel Manager (2609 7280). 研究及科技事務處重組 Restructuring of the Research and Technology Administration Office 近年來,中大與工商界的合作計劃迅速發展,大學提供的專業顧問服務、技術支援、通過 專利許可證作技術轉移及合約研究項目,均有可觀的增長。大學科技轉移項目的數量,重 要性和成功案例都迅速增長,新的研究計劃也急需支援。 為配合研究及科技事務的不斷增長,大學決定將研究及科技事務處轄下的兩個單位,即研究 事務處和科技及專利許可事務處,分拆為兩個獨立部門,由二零零六年十月一日起生效。 重組後,研究及科技事務處主任的職銜將改為科技及專利許可事務處主任,負責重組後的 科技及專利許可事務處,處理該部門日益繁重的工作,直接向統籌科技及專利許可事務的 程伯中副校長負責。研究事務處主任則向教務處處長負責,並須就研究事務向有關的政策 委員會及主管人員提供行政支援,有關項目包括:大學的重點資助卓越領域計劃及大學教 育資助委員會的卓越學科領域計劃。原任教務處學務組主任的林楊詩詩女士獲委派擔任研 究事務處主任職務,由二零零六年十月一日起生效。 科技及專利許可事務處與研究事務處的聯絡電話分別為二六零九八八八五及二六零九八九 四五。 In recent years, therehas beenaphenomenal growth inuniversity-industry collaboration as well as professional consultancy services, technical assistance projects, technology transfer through licensing, and contract research. The volume, importance and success of technology transfer activities within the University have increased rapidly, and there is also a rising need for servicing new research initiatives. In anticipation of further increases in the range of duties, the two existing sub-units within the Research and Technology Administration Office (RTAO), viz., the Research Administration Office (RAO) and the Technology and Licensing Office (TLO), will be separated into two units with effect from 1st October 2006. After the reorganization, the Director, RTAO, will be retitled Director, TLO, and will assume responsibility for the reorganized TLO, with its increased volume of work, and will continue to report to Prof. Ching Pak-chung, pro-vice-chancellor in charge of inter alia technology and licensing. The Director of RAO, who will report administratively to the Director of Registry Services, will provide administrative support to all policy committees and senior members on research administration and related tasks such as the Focused Investments Scheme and the UGC AoE Scheme. Mrs. Cecilia Lam, Assistant Registrar of the Office of Registry Services, has been assigned to serve as Director, RAO from 1st October 2006.
