第 307 期 2007 年 11 月 19 日 No. 307 19 November 2007 第六十四屆大會典禮特別安排 Arrangements for the Sixty-fourth Congregation 第六十四屆大會（頒授學位典禮）將於12月6日（星期四）上午10時正在林蔭大道 舉行，由大學監督、大紫荊勳賢曾蔭權博士主持，頒授榮譽博士學位、高級學位 及學士學位。 12月6日下午，各成員書院舉行學士學位畢業禮，詳情如下： The Sixty-fourth Congregation for the Conferment of Degrees will be held at 10:00 am on 6 December 2007 at the University Mall. Dr. the Honourable Donald Tsang, Chancellor of the University, will confer honorary, higher and first degrees. The graduation ceremonies held by the four Colleges for first-degree graduates will take place on the afternoon of 6 December 2007. Temporary Closure of Car Park Opposite to Sir Run Run Shaw Hall The car park opposite to Sir Run Run Shaw Hall, to be used as a seating area for graduates, will be temporarily closed from 18 November to 9 December for the erection of a canopy for the ceremony. Suspension of Classes Classes for Medical Years 1 and 2 and first-term course examinations for full-time undergraduate programmes and postgraduate programmes will be suspended on 6 December. Temporary Closure of BFC Canteen The Benjamin Franklin Centre student canteen will be closed on 6 December from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm for the tea reception of higher degree graduates after the congregation. Wet Weather Contingency In the very unlikely event of heavy rain on 6 December, the University will implement a wet weather contingency plan. Upon an official announcement, the congregation will be moved to Sir Run Run Shaw Hall and simultaneously broadcast to lecture theatres on campus. The New Asia College graduation ceremony will take place in the New Asia Gymnasium, while the ceremonies for Chung Chi, United and Shaw Colleges, which are planned to take place indoors, will not be affected. Details of the contingency plan will be broadcast at the University train station and the University Mall, and announced at the entrances to the University on the day. 平安夜、新年除夕及農曆新年除夕之辦公安排 Staffing Arrangements on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year’s Eve 根據大學關於平安夜、新年除夕及農曆新年除夕辦公之安排，所有部門於2007年 12月24日（星期一）、12月31日（星期一）及2008年2月6日（星期三）上午須留 有職員值班。當值之（乙）或（丙）類服務條例職員可獲補假半天。 上述安排對保健處、大學圖書館系統、資訊科技服務處之電算機操作組、保安 組、交通組、物業管理處等部門並不適用。該等部門須留有足夠人手以維持基本 服務。 The following staffing arrangements for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year’s Eve will apply on Monday, 24 December 2007; Monday, 31 December 2007; and Wednesday, 6 February 2008. For essential service units such as the University Health Service, the University Library System, the Operations Team of the Information Technology Services Centre, the Security Unit, the Transport Unit, and the Estates Management Office, a task force will remain on duty to provide basic services. For all other offices at the University, skeleton staff should be on duty on these mornings to handle urgent matters and enquiries. These offices will be closed in the afternoon. The skeleton staff [on Terms (B) or (C)] on duty on each morning will be given compensation of half a day.
