O 新任講座教授 Professorial Appointments 大學委任徐冠華教授為太空與地球信息科學研究所偉倫太空與地球科學研究講座教授，任期由2008年5月7日至2011年5月 6日。徐教授於1991年當選為中國科學院院士。他曾任國家科學技術部部長，並於2005至2008年任中大工程學院榮譽教授，2008年1月至5月任中大太空與地球信息科學研究所訪問教授。 Prof. Xu Guanhua has been appointedWei Lun Research Professor of Space and Earth Sciences, Institute of Space and Earth Information Science from 7 May 2008 to 6 May 2011. Prof. Xu was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991. He was also the Minister of Science and Technology of PRC. From 2005 to 2008, he was appointed as honorary professor of CUHK Faculty of Engineering and then as visiting professor of the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science from January to May 2008. 大學委任藍輝耀教授為內科及藥物治療學系及李嘉誠健康科學研究所生物醫藥科學講座教授，由2009年4月28日起生效。藍教授於1977年及1986年獲得中山醫科大學醫學學士學位及醫學碩士學位，1990年獲澳洲蒙納殊大學頒授醫學博士學位。他曾於澳洲蒙納殊大學及香港大學任教。 Prof. Lan Huiyao has been appointed Professor of Biomedical Sciences, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics and Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences, with effect from 28 April 2009. Prof. Lan received his medical degree and Master of Medicine from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1977 and 1986 respectively. He obtained his PhD in Medicine from Monash University in 1990. Stringent precautionary measures have been launched in the University Health Clinic. Cleaning and disinfection of public facilities on campus have been strengthened to ensure a sanitary environment. Examination and student activities will not be affected for the time being but such changes can be expected if the influenza infectivity increases. For the latest information, please visit www.cuhk.edu.hk/health _ promote _ protect/ . 哲學系六十周年系慶及唐君毅先生百歲冥壽紀念活動 60th Anniversary of Philosophy Department and Centenary of Professor Tang Chun-I 2009年乃中大哲學系創系六十周年，也是該系創系系主任、首位講座教授唐君毅先生的百歲冥壽。學系舉辦多項紀念活動誌慶，包括： 5月18至21日：「中國哲學研究之新方向─中大哲學系創系六十周年紀念、唐君毅百歲冥壽暨新亞書院六十周年院慶國際學術研討會」，主講嘉賓計有：信廣來教授、安樂哲教授、孟旦教授、金耀基教授、勞思光教授、劉述先教授、霍韜晦教授及Prof. Henry Rosemont； 5月20日：唐君毅銅像之奠立儀式。為紀念唐先生對哲學及文化的不朽貢獻，該座兩米高的銅像將豎立於新亞書院校園，成為新亞精神的標誌； 5月18日至6月8日：「中國文化精神價值之捍衞者：唐君毅先生百歲冥壽紀念展」，介紹唐先生生平及學術貢獻，並展列其手稿及相關之圖片、書籍等。活動詳情請瀏覽 http://phil.arts.cuhk.edu.hk ，或向哲學系凌小姐查詢（2609 8525或 ivylingpy@cuhk.edu.hk ）。 The year 2009 marks the 60th anniversary of the Department of Philosophy and the centenary of Prof. Tang Chun-I, founding chairman and the first Chair Professor of the department. The department is celebrating these events with a series of activities, including: ‘New Directions in Chinese Philosophy: International Conference Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Department of Philosophy, CUHK, the Centenary of Tang Chun-I, and the 60th Anniversary of New Asia College’ will be held on 18–21 May. The plenary speakers are all renowned scholars: Prof. Shun Kwong-loi, Prof. Roger T. Ames, Prof. Donald Munro, Prof. Ambrose King, Prof. Lao Sze-kwang, Prof. Liu Shu- hsien, Prof. Fok Tou-hui and Prof. Henry Rosemont. To commemorate Prof. Tang Chun-I’s contribution, a two- metre bronze statue of Prof. Tang will be erected on the campus of New Asia College. The statue will become an icon of the New Asia College representing Prof. Tang’s life- long pursuit of revitalizing Chinese culture. The inaugural ceremony for the statue will take place on 20 May. An exhibition on Prof. Tang’s life and works ‘Guardian of the Spiritual Value of Chinese Culture: Tang Chun-I Centenary Exhibition’ will be held from 18 May to 8 June.
