6 No. 377, 4.5.2011 成 就 ACHIEVEMENTS 常 務副校長兼偉倫計算機科學與工程學講座教授華 雲生最近在加州舉行的2011柏克萊電子工程及計 算機科學周年研討會上，獲加州大學柏克萊分校頒發計算 機科學傑出校友獎。 華教授感謝母校的嘉許，他說：「這份榮譽屬於各位曾與 我共事的學生及同事。⋯⋯我衷心感謝良師益友兼論文導 師─榮休講座教授C.V. Ramamoorthy教授對我的諄諄 教導，令我在做人和治學上皆獲益良多。」 該獎由加州大學柏克萊分校電子工程及計算機科學系計 算機科學部於1999年設立，旨在表揚對計算機科學貢獻 卓越、享譽國際的傑出科學家校友。 P rof. Benjamin W. Wah, Provost and Wei Lun Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at CUHK, is named a Distinguished Alumnus in Computer Science by the University of California, Berkeley. He was honoured at an award ceremony recently at the Berkeley EECS Annual Research Symposium 2011 in California. 常務副校長獲加州大學柏克萊分校傑出校友獎 Provost Receives Distinguished Alumni Award from UC Berkeley ACHIEVEMENTS 成 就 Professor Wah is grateful for his alma mater’s commendation, ‘This award is a recognition of the numerous students and colleagues I have worked with in my career.… I am particularly thankful to my mentor and thesis advisor at UCB, Emeritus Professor C.V. Ramamoorthy, who transformed me from a naive graduate student to what I am today.’ The award was established by the Division of Computer Sciences of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley in 1999 to recognize its alumni who have gained renown as distinguished scientists for their contributions to the field of computer science. Daily opening hours of the pool are as follows: 第一節 1st session 10:30 am – 1:40 pm 第二節 2nd session 2:30 pm – 7:15 pm 游泳池辦事處（范克廉樓一樓）由4月19日起辦理簽發及換領游泳證之申請。 The issuance and renewal of swimming cards commenced on 19 April at the swimming pool counter (1/F, Benjamin Franklin Centre).
