No. 432, 19.2.2014 5 法律學院模擬法庭訟辯盃 CUHK Moot Cup for High-schoolers 2014年1月11至18日期間,五十六名香港中學精英雲集中大法律學院,參與中大模擬法庭訟辯盃,一展他們的訟辯技巧。 是次中大模擬法庭訟辯盃由法律學院Michael Ramsden( 左四 )及Luke Marsh( 左三 )兩位教授設計及籌辦,旨在為 中學生提供了解香港憲政、人權和法治重要性的寶貴機會。 在為期超過三日的密集活動中,參加者在兩位教授和模擬法庭訟辯小組成員指導下,探究近期的熱門議題─「佔領 中環」、警方處理和平政治集會中示威者時的權力限制。 經過一場旗鼓相當的決賽後,2014年度中大模擬法庭訟辯盃由漢基國際學校的劉奕晴( 右二 )和洪啟峰( 右一 )奪得, 亞軍為來自拔萃女書院的李程君( 左二 )和馬沅鈞( 左一 )。今年法律學院模擬法庭訟辯小組學生成員,包括孟繁嶧、 龔璇、方熙賢和陳俊業四名法學士課程三年級學生。 Between 11 and 18 January 2014, the legal talent of 56 high school students from across Hong Kong was put firmly on display in the CUHK Moot Cup, set up to offer these students a unique chance to try their hand at oral argument in a university setting. Prof. Michael Ramsden ( 4th left ) and Prof. Luke Marsh ( 3rd left ), responsible for creating the competition, introduced the CUHK Moot Cup in order to provide high school students with an invaluable opportunity to understand the importance of Hong Kong’s constitutional system, human rights and the rule of law. Over three intensive days, high school students received instruction from the two professors alongside members of the CUHK student mooting committee. The moot problem explored the controversial issue of ‘Occupy Central’ and the limits of police powers where protesters were engaged in peaceful political assembly. The CUHK Moot Cup champions for 2014 were Christy Lau ( 2nd right ) and Joshua Hung ( 1st right ) of the Chinese International School who prevailed in a close final against Adriana Lee ( 2nd left ) and Vanessa Ma ( 1st left ) of Diocesan Girls’ School. This years’ CUHK student mooting committee comprised: Lloyd Meng, Shannon Gong, Adrian Fong and Sam Chan, Year 3 students of the LLB programme. 社工系畢業生獲嘉許 Social Work Graduates Receive Awards 由香港社會工作人員協會舉辦的「第二十三屆優秀社工 選舉」已圓滿結束,社會工作學系畢業生黃敏信( 右一 ) 及黃子峰( 左一 )分別榮獲「優秀社工獎」及「新秀社工 獎」。 黃敏信為社工系1988年畢業生,現時任職明愛精神健康 綜合社區中心社會工作督導主任,致力於精神復康範疇, 為復康人士提供適切有效的支援;黃子峰則為2007年 畢業生,現時於新生精神康復會安泰軒擔任社工。 除上述兩項傑出獎項外,現時服務救世軍、主要支援有 特殊學習需要兒童及青少年的2008年社工系畢業生李 麗玲,亦於「最有啟發助人歷程」選舉中脫穎而出,獲社 會工作人員協會嘉許。 The result of 23rd Outstanding Social Worker Award has been announced. Mr. Wong Man-shun ( 1st right ) and Mr. Wong Tsz-fung ( 1st left ), CUHK graduates from the Department of Social Work, were respectively awarded as ‘Outstanding Social Worker’ and ‘Junior Outstanding Social Worker’ for their prominent achievements and enthusiasm in the social work field. Mr. Wong Man-shun graduated from CUHK in 1988, and is currently working as supervisor in the Caritas Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness, with an aim to providing effective support for mental rehabilitants. A graduate of 2007, Mr. Wong Tsz-fung is now working as a social worker in the Wellness Centre, New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. In addition to the two Outstanding Social Worker Awards, Miss Li Lai-ling, who graduated from the Department of Social Work in 2008, has won the ‘The Most Inspiring Helping Process Award’. Miss Li is currently working in the Salvation Army to support children and youth with special learning needs. 中大生訪京體驗英語教育 CUHK Students Experience English Teaching in Beijing 在2013年12月19至30日期間,十一名修讀文學士(英國語文研究)及教育學士(英國語文教育)雙學位課程學生參加由 國家教育部萬人計劃支持、北京師範大學(北師大)安排的「英語實習教師的中國內地學校體驗計劃」。他們在為期十二 日的旅程中,有機會與北師大學生及北京學校的英語老師交流英語教學的心得,並了解兩地不同的教育體制。 這批準英語教師到學校觀課,認識當地的英語教學法,並獲得在三所小學實習的難得機會,把在大學所學的英語教學 法,應用於不同背景的學生身上。 During the semester break from 19 to 30 December 2013, 11 students of the BA (English Studies) and BEd (English Language Education) Programme participated in a 12-day ‘School Experience in Beijing Programme’ with the support of the Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University and China’s Ministry of Education under the umbrella of Mainland Interflow. This internship programme provided the participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas with students from Beijing Normal University and school teachers in Beijing on the education systems and English language teaching and learning of both places. In addition, the participants visited schools, observed lessons and were introduced to the English language teaching pedagogy advocated there. As prospective teachers of English, the participants had the valuable chance to teach in three local primary schools where they met students of different backgrounds and put their pedagogical knowledge into practice in a different setting.
