The Virtuality of Romance of the Three Kingdoms in Japanese Context

Organized by The Chinese University Press and The Commercial Press, the public lecture ‘The Virtuality of Romance of the Three Kingdoms in Japanese Context’ was held on 6 April at the Commercial Press Tsimshatsui Book Centre.

In the lecture, Prof. Ng Wai-ming, professor in the Department of Japanese Studies, CUH, shared with the audience his research findings that he has put in the book Searching for Modernity and Identity in Japan-China Interactions in the Modern Period (The Chinese University Press, 2013, in Chinese). He analyzed the reinterpretations and adaptations of Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Japanese popular culture, including fictions, manga and video games.
