Prof. Zhang Li of the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, in collaboration with a research team from the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology, Korea, and ETH Zurich, Switzerland, has successfully developed a novel type of magnetically manipulated microrobot capable of transporting an appropriate number of cells and therapeutic drugs to specific areas of the human body. The technology could lead to the targeted treatment of various diseases such as cancer, cerebral infarction and retinal degeneration. The research results have been featured as the cover story in Advanced Materials (Volume 25, Issue 35).
