Symposium for Health Care Workers in Chinese Population

The 6th Annual Palliative Care Symposium for Health Care Workers in Chinese Population, jointly organized by the Faculty of Medicine of CUHK; Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (HKU), the Hong Kong Geriatrics Society and the Li Ka Shing Foundation 'Heart of Gold' Hong Kong Hospice Service Programme, was held at the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care Building in the Prince of Wales Hospital on 14 September. Prof. H.K. Ng (centre), acting dean, Faculty of Medicine, CUHK; Dr. Janice Tsang (1st left), assistant dean (alumni relations), Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU; Dr. Luk Ka-hay (2nd right), vice-president, the Hong Kong Geriatrics Society; Dr. Chung Kin-lin (2nd left), chief manager, Integrated Care Programs, Hospital Authority; and Dr. Katherine Lo (1st right), senior project manager, Li Ka Shing Foundation officiated the opening ceremony.

With 'Palliative Care for Geriatrics Cancer Patients' as its theme, the symposium attracted over 100 health care professionals from different backgrounds who shared their experiences and exchanged views on symptoms management, measures to enhance quality of life and nursing programme for advanced cancer patients.
