Chinese as a Second Language Society Founded

The Yale-China Chinese Language Centre announced the establishment of the Chinese as a Second Language Teaching and Research Society (CSLTARS) which aims at fostering academic exchange in the Chinese as a second language field. A kick-off ceremony was held on 18 November with an inaugural lecture on ‘Learning and Teaching Chinese in the US: Current Issues and Future Trends’ delivered by Prof. Cornelius C. Kubler (1st right) from Williams College. During the ceremony, Prof. Leung Yuen-sang (3rd right), Dean of Arts, presented souvenirs and certificates to Dr. Wu Weiping (2nd right), founding chairman of CSLTARS and other key members of the society.
