CUHK and Imperial College Collaborate on Health Care Innovation

CUHK has recently entered into a collaboration with Imperial College London to further strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in education and research to promote medical technology advancements.

The research teams of the two institutions will join hands in health care solutions that can reshape the future of patient care and well-being. Prof. Yang Guangzhong (right), director and co-founder, Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery, Imperial College London, looks forward to benefit patients globally through the collaboration with strong emphasis on some of the ground-breaking topics in imaging, sensing and robotics.

CUHK's Faculty of Medicine has set up the Chow Yuk Ho Technology Centre for Innovative Medicine in January 2015. Prof. Philip Chiu (left), director of the centre, remarked that academic exchange programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students have been established for nurturing professionals in health care innovation with sound knowledge and global vision. Last summer, two CUHK biomedical engineering undergraduate students went to Hamlyn Centre for a 10-week research attachment. Two undergraduates will go this summer, while another medical student will go there to study a master programme in robotic engineering.
