26 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2020–2021 受疫情影響,本年度 大學多項主要活 動 ,包括「本科入學資訊日」、「第八十 八屆頒授學士及碩士學位典禮大會」、 「第八十九屆頒授榮譽博士及博士學 位典禮大會」、「中大校友日」及「中大 課程探索日」均移師網上舉行。參加者 透過網上平台,一同觀看典禮直播或 出席實時線上活動,跟參加實體活動 一樣,度過了非常難忘的時光。 此外,大學為新生推出一站式 迎新網 站 ,由中大同學利用廣受歡迎的沙盒遊 戲 Minecraft 建構中大虛擬校園,設計 出不同關卡,讓新生以遊戲形式完成入 學註冊等程序,並提供實用的中大校園 資訊,為新同學的大學生活作好準備。 大學與全球合作夥伴保持緊密聯繫, 共同促進國際高等教育界發展。2020 年10月,大學與北京大學共同主辦 「一 流大學建設系列研討會暨中國大學校 長聯誼會2020年會」 。在東莞市政府 大力支持下,活動於東莞順利舉行。九 所內地頂尖高校與香港三所研究型大 學的校長及代表在會上討論後疫情時 代大學的責任和挑戰,以及一流大學所 擔當的重要角色。 Given the circumstances of the pandemic, major university events , including Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions, the 88th Congregation for the Conferment of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, the 89th Congregation for the Conferment of Honorary and Doctoral Degrees, Alumni Homecoming Day, and Programme Exploration Days for JUPAS Applicants, were held virtually. Live broadcast and real- time online activities were arranged to engage participants in the events, which were by no means less commemorative than physical ones. To support freshmen in embarking on their new journey at the University, a one-stop Orientation Website was launched. Featuring a virtual CUHK campus recreated by one of our students in the renowned sandbox construction video game, Minecraft , the Website guided freshmen to complete registration procedures through gamified tasks and provided them with useful information about CUHK. The University also works closely with international partners to enhance higher education at a global level. In October 2020, it co-hosted the 2020 Forum on Building World- class Universities and the meeting of the Association of University Presidents of China (AUPC) with Peking University in Dongguan, Guangdong with the support of the Dongguan Municipal Government, during which heads and representatives of nine top mainland universities and three research universities in Hong Kong discussed the challenges and responsibilities of higher education and the instrumental role played by world-class universities in the post-pandemic era.
