工程學院 重要發展 Major Events in theFacul ty of Engineering •光科技研究所及其光電子封裝實驗室於二零零 二年十一月十六日正式成立，由香港特別行政 區工商及科技局常任秘書長何宣威先生及金耀 基校長主持開幕典禮。研究所由工程學院與理 學院合作組成；而實驗室則致力於研究及推廣 電子封裝這門嶄新技術，並將之發展成為本港 另一高新科技工業。 •香港科學園於二零零二年六月正式投入服務 後，學院之創新科技中心積極與之商討合作研 究，並促成若干項目。 •學院與本地工業界一直緊密合作，將有關的尖 端科研成果轉移予業界使用，今年的合作夥伴 • T he I n s t i t u te of O p t i c al Science a n d T e c h n o l o gy a n d its P h o t o n ic P a c k a g i ng L a b o r a t o ry w e r e o p e n ed o n 16th N o v e m b er 2002, w i t h M r . ' V i d e o 2 M M S' is a n i n t e l l i g e nt v i d e o - p r o c e s s i ng p l a t f o r m, w h i c h a u t o m a t i c a l ly records, extracts, a n d s u mm a r i z es T V c o n t e n t s. It also s u p p o r ts a n u m b e r of m o b i l e v i d e o o u t p u t f o r ma ts f o u n d i n m o st of the latest m o b i le handsets.
