D r . P a n Pu h , N e w A s ia College, M athematics D r. Pan P u h , B.Sc. N a n kin g , D .Sc. Paris, taught in various universities in China since his re tu rn from France in 1939. F rom 1949 to 1954 , he was a P ro fessor o f Physics and C h em istry at the T a iw an N o rm a l U n iv e rs ity , and subsequently Professor and Head o f the D e pa rtm ent o f M athem atics from 1954 to 1957. F rom 1957 to 1961, he was Professor and Head o f the D e pa rtm e n t o f M athem atics as w e ll as Dean o f the F a cu lty o f Science at Nanyang U n iv e rs ity . He jo in e d N ew Asia College in December, 1961. D r. Pan has published a num be r o f articles in maga zines and periodicals in Paris, China, and H o n g K ong, (Photo o f D r. H e was b ro u g h t up in a fam ily esteemed fo r lite rature , and thus had o p p o rtu n ity to go to Peking in his early yo u th to be tu to re d by such distinguished scholars as L in Shu, Chen S h ih -i, T u n g Cheng and W u K a i- sh eng. T h u s M r. Tseng K e -tu a n had o p p o rtu n ity to learn from bo th styles and established a lite ra ry reputa­ tio n o f his own before he was th irty . He tau ght fo r m any years at N a tion a l C h i-nan U n i­ ve rsity before com ing down to H o ng K o n g in 1952 to teach in N ew Asia College. Yen K w o -y u n g was bo rn in W ei-yeung, Kw a ng - tun g and graduated from the N a tional Central U n iv e rs ity in 1927. H e tau ght as a tu to r in the same U n iv e rs ity fo r a short w h ile and was sent to L a Sorbonne in 1928 to fu rth e r his studies. H a vin g obtained his P h .D . there, he returned to teach in N a tion a l C entral U n iv e rs ity in 1932 as a Professor o f Zoology. La te r, he was also Head o f the D e pa rtm ent o f Zoology and Dean o f the F aculty o f Science. He arrived in H o ng K o n g in 1949 and taught in Chu H a i College, serving at the same tim e as Academ ic Registrar o f the College. Since 1960, he has been teaching in N ew Asia College and helped the College to eatablish a D e pa rtm ent o f Biology. D r. O u T su in -che n , V ice-P resident o f N ew Asia College, returned from H aw aii on M a rch 1 after taking pa rt in the Advanced Scholars Resident Research P rogramme at the U n iv e rs ity o f H aw aii fo r fo u r months. He has resumed his duties as A c tin g President o f N ew Asia. Dean John W . Cowee Dean John W . Dean Cowee's v is it was to study and advise the U n iv e rs ity in developing the field o f Business A dm in is tra tio n , and his v is it was supported by a U .S . State D e pa rtm ent grant. H e was accompanied by M rs . Cowee, tw o sons, John and Jeff, and a frie n d o f his elder son, W illia m M . Holmes. D u rin g his stay in H o ng K ong, he m et w ith the fa cu lty o f the D e pa rtm ent o f Business A dm in is tra tio n in the three Colleges and had a weekly sem inar to discuss general conditions in the D epartm ent. H e gave a lecture at New Asia College to students o f the three colleges on ‘‘Education on Business A d m in i s tra tio n ". I ll the last leg o f his stay, he visited the Chinese M a n u fa ctu re rs' Association and the Federa tio n o f H o ng K o n g Ind u strie s and m et w ith th e ir directors. H e also gave a lecture on the "L e g a l Aspects o f Business' at T h e Federation o f H o n g K o n g Ind u strie s on M a rc h 22.
