S ir Robert, a fo rm e r G ove rn or o f H o n g K o n g and the firs t Chancellor o f th is U n iv e rs ity , had done a great deal fo r the establishm ent and later development o f the U n iv e rs ity . T h e ceremony was attended by D r. the Hon. C .Y . Kw a n , Chairm an o f the U n iv e rs ity 's C o un cil and many o th e r C o un cil members. M a n y h ig h -ra n k in g officials o f the H o n g K o n g G ove rnm en t were also present, together w ith a large num be r o f members o f the U n iversity staff. M rs . H .A . DONATIONS TO UN IVERS ITY AND COLLEGES △ T h e B ritis h C o u n cil has donated £ 3,000 to be used fo r purchase o f books fo r the three College L ib ra rie s in the year from A p r il 1, 1966 to M a rc h 31’ 1967. T h is is the fo u rth year th a t the B ritis h C o u n c il has been able to make a donation o f this kin d . In tota l, the B ritis h C o un cil has given th is U n iv e rs ity £1 5,000 since 1961-62 — nearly a quarter o f a m illio n H o n g K o n g dollars. △ M r. C a rl K o tc h ia n o f Lockheed A irc ra ft C o rporation, who visited the U n iv e rs ity early th is year, donated US$100 to the Chung C h i College L ib ra ry . △ T h e Tsoo Y iu M em o ria l F u n d C omm ittee has offered to donate to th is U n iv e rs ity a sum o f money sufficient to yie ld $1,000 a year to be awarded to a student in Chinese L ite ra tu re in the U n iv e rs ity . T h e F und has been established unde r the sponsorship o f the Y 's M e n 's C lubs in H o n g K o n g , K ow lo o n and V ic to ria in m em ory o f the late D r. T .Y . L i, who, d u rin g his life tim e , did a great deal fo r the Y 's M en 's C lu b m ovem ent and hum an itarian service to the H ong K o n g c om m u n ity. 3
