STAFF PROFILES M r . L i K a m - k i , Adm i n i s t r a t i v e Assistant 生 先 祺 錦 李 M r . Lee K a m - k i Born in H o n g K o n g in 1941, M r. L i K a m -k i com ­ pleted his secondary education at Y in g W a College. In 1962 he entered Chung C h i College, to pursue studies in the E nglish Departm ent. He was awarded the degree o f Bachelor o f A rts in 1966 and in September, the same year, he took up the post o f v ice -p rin cip a l and teacher o f E ng lish at Pak K au E nglish School in the N ew T e rrito rie s . He assumed d u ty as adm in istra ­ tive assistant in the B u ild in g s O ffice o f the U n iv e rs ity on 1st June, 1967. COMINGS AND GOINGS Δ On 11 October, V ice -C hance llo r C .M . L i returned from an in te rna tiona l conference on "T h e W o rld C risis in E du ca tio n ” held in W illiam sb u rg , V irg in ia , in the U n ite d States, from 5th to 9th October. D r. L i, as a m ember o f the P lann ing C omm ittee o f the Conference, also too k pa rt in the p lan nin g sessions in the U n ite d States last F e b ru a ry. T h e Conference, w h ich was chaired jo in tly by D r. John W . G ardner, Secretary o f Health, Education, and W elfare o f the U n ite d States G overnm ent, and P resident James Perkins o f C o rne ll U n iv e rs ity , and attended by education au thorities from 52 countries, called on developed countries to double the amount o f assistance they are g ivin g to education in the less- developed areas o f the w o rld , A banquet was held on the last evening o f the Con­ ference and President L y n d o n B. Johnson together w ith M rs. Johnson and th e ir daughter, M rs. P atrick N ugent flew from W ashington D .C . to jo in the delegates. V ice -C hance llo r L i was among the few in v ite d to jo in the P residential table. D r. T .C . Ou, President o f N ew Asia College, who also attended the Conference, visited in stitu tio n s o f higher learning in W ashington D .C ., New Y o rk and N ew Haven on his re tu rn trip . D u rin g his absence D r. Chang Pao-heng, Dean o f the Faculty o f A rts o f the College, was A c tin g President o f the College. Δ D r. Chou Hung-hsiang, new ly appointed T em ­ po rary L e c tu re r in Chinese at U n ite d College, arrived from A u stra lia and assumed d u ty on 16 October. Δ D r. L .S . Chuang, L e c tu re r in Physics at Chung C h i College, returned to H o ng K o n g on 3rd October, 1967, after com p le ting his doctoral w o rk at T okyo U n iv e rs ity o f E du ca tio n . Δ Rev. F r. Canice J. Egan, S.J., L e ctu re r in English at N ew Asia College, who le ft the College on 1st July, 1966 on long leave and study leave fo r postgraduate studies in E ng lish L ite ra tu re at the U n iv e rs ity o f Sussex, returned w ith a M aster o f A rts degree on 3rd October, 1967.
