Dr. Lin S. Chiao, Senior Lecturer in Accounting, New Asia College 士博松林喬 Dr. L i n S. Chiao Dr. L i n S. Chiao received his B.S. from the National Shanghai Institute of Commerce in 1942 and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1948 and 1952 respectively. He served as Professor of National Cheng Chi University and National Taiwan University, and Associate Professor o f the State University of New Yo rk before takin g up his current position of Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance at New Asia College in September 1968. Dr. Chiao's fields of specialization are accounting theory and national income accounting. His publications include two Chinese articles, "Stabilized Accounting, a Proposal" and "Recent Accounting Education and Research in the United States", and an English pamplet on The Philosophy and Limitation of Social Accounting. Mr. William Hon-Cheung Wan, Manager of Benjamin Franklin Centre Activities and University Assistant Registrar (Student Affairs) (picture in Chinese section) Born in 1936 in Hong Kong, Mr. W.H.C. Wan received his Chinese School Leaving Certificate in 1955 and his Diploma in Sociology and Social Work from Chung Chi College in 1959. Mr. Wan has been active in extra-curricular activities since he was in middle school. When he was at Chung Chi, he initiated several major athletic events as Athleti c Convenor of the College Student Union; served as Chairman of the Representative Council of the Union; and was active in re-organizing the College Canteen food service and in promoting music activities. After his graduation Mr. Wan joined the Chinese Y .M. C . A. as a Secretary-in-Training an d was later transferred to the Student Christian Centre as a Programme Secretary. In 1961 he was one of the two co-leaders of the Ecumenical Work Camp in Rennies Mi l l , Hong Kong. Mr. Wan was appointed Housing Assistant Class I I by the Hong Kong Housing Authority in October 1961, and was promoted Housing Assistant Class I in 1965 and Assistant Housing Manager in 1966. The same year he was selected by the Hong Kong American- Consulate-Genera l and the Hong Kong Housing Authorit y to participate in the International Programme for Social Workers and Youth Leaders in the United Staes. He was also a member of the Hong Kong delegation to the International Conference of Social Welfare in Washington D.C. In 1968 Mr. Wan read for an M . A. degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education at the Teachers College of Columbia University. He visited American universities on his return trip in 1969. Mr. Wan joined this University on 1st March, 1969 as Manager of Benjamin Franklin Centre Activities and assumed the additional title of Assistant Registrar (Student Affairs) on 17th March, 1969. — 10 —
