College Auditorium on 6th September. Dr. Tchang was the former Head of the Department of Economics, and Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Social Science of the College. The service, which was presided over by Dr. Y.T. Shen, the former College President, was attended by staff members, alumni, and students. Well-known scholars and distinguished educators also came to pay tribute to Dr. Tchang. Mr. Sun Kuo-tung, Prof. Mou Jun-sun and Mr. Wu Chen-hsiung of the College gave talks at the gathering. To mark the occasion, a special issue of New Asia LifeFortnightly in memory of Dr. Tchang was published on that day. • Mr. John Barr, formerly Chairman of the English Department of Chung Chi College, passed away in Scotland on 9th September, 1970 at the age of 70. He taught English at the College from 1955 to 1965 and had great concern for student activities and counselling. A memorial service for Mr. Barr will be held at the Chapel of Chung Chi College on 4th October. • The following members of the staff of Chung Chi College were elected officers of the College Staff Club Committee for 1970-71: Mr. S.L. Wong (Chairman), Dr. L.B. Trott (Vice-Chairman), Miss Amy Wong Suk-Ying (Secretary), Mr. Donald P. McComb (Treasurer), Dr. C.L. Choy (Clubhouse Committee Chairman). • On 28th September, the Staff Association of New Asia College held a General Meeting, at which amendments to its Regulations and Rules and its Chinese title were made. New members of the Executive Committee (for the current year) were also elected, namely: Mr. Sun Kuo-tung, Dr. Phillip Sun, Dr. Yen Kwo-yung, Mr. Chu Ming-lun, Mr. Wu Chen-hsiung, Mrs. Helen Wang Yu, Mr. Stephen Tiong, Mr. Wei Yu-chen and Mr. Hsia Yan-san. ‘ T h e Staff Association of United College held its Annual General Meeting on 30th September. Mr . ST . Wong and Mr. Andrew Chan were elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively for 1970/71. The other elected office-bearers of the Executive Committee are: Mr. Sheung Chung-ho (Hon. Secretary); Mr. Chang Chien-min (Hon. Treasurer); Dr. S.T. Tsou, Mr. John Lam Cho-hon, Mr. Fred Ting (Committee Members).
