L. Huang, Vice-Chancellor of Nanyang University, was elected President o f the Association. He succeeds Dr. Choh-Ming Li, Vice-Chancellor of this University, who has served as President of the Association for the past two years. Prof. Ungku Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chancellor o f the University of Malaya, was elected Vice-President. The new Administrative Board of the Association is composed of one representative each from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Dr. Kenneth E. Robinson, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, has been elected to the Board. Seminar on " O u t s i de Activities of Southeast Asian Universities" The ASA I HL sponsored a two-day international Seminar on 15th and 16th December, 1970 on "Outside Activities of Southeast Asian Universities". The first day of the Seminar was held at the newly completed Institute of Chinese Studies of this University in Shatin and the second day at the University of Hon g Kong. Seminar of the ASAIHL held at the Art Gallery of the Institute of Chinese Studies Four discussion sessions were held during the two-day Seminar which began with Dr. Choh-Ming Li's opening statement. Th e topics for discussion, chairmen and main speakers were: 1. " The University and the Community in Southeast Asia" Chairman and Main Speaker: Dr. Toh Chin Chye Vice-Chancellor University of Singapore 2. "University's Contribution t o National Development" Chairman: Dr. Sumantri Brodjonegoro Rector University of Indonesia Main Speaker: Dr. M.C. Chakrabandhu Rector Kasetsart University 3. "University Public Relations" Chairman: Dr. Thich Minh Chau Rector Van Hanh University Main Speaker: Dr. Rayson L. Huang Vice-Chancellor Nanyang University 4. "Inter-University Co-operation" Chairman: Prof. Ungku Abdul Aziz Vice-Chancellor University of Malaya Main Speaker: Dr. Salvador P. Lopez President University of the Philippines More than 70 educational leaders, including 16 vice-chancellors, rectors and presidents, from universities and colleges o f Southeast Asia and 13 other educational institutions attended the Seminar.
