36   Chinese University Bulletin No. 1, 2009 Appointments New University Dean of Students Prof. Dennis K.P. Ng, professor in the Department of Chemistry, has been appointed to succeed Prof. Ho Puay- peng as University Dean of Students on a concurrent basis from 1 February 2009 to 31 July 2011. New Faculty Deans The Council of The Chinese Universit y of Hong Kong has appointed the following deans for a period of five years: Prof. Hsiung Ping-chen (left), an internationally active historian, as dean of the Faculty of Arts with effect from 2 July 2009; Prof. Wong Tak-jun (centre), Professor of Accountancy, as dean of the Faculty of Business Administration with effect from 1 February 2009; and Prof. Fok Tai-fai (right), Professor of Paediatrics, as dean of the Faculty of Medicine with effect from 1 November 2008. Emeritus Professor Prof. Allan M.Z. Chang has been awarded the title of Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with effect from 15 October 2008.
