CUHK Newsletter The Pastoral Programme jointly run by the Theology Division of the Department of Religion and the Department of Extramural Studies will offer one-year elementary and intermediate certificate courses in theology in autumn. The programme of studies of the elementary course will include basic theology, introduction to the Old and the New Testaments, Christian education, missiology and counselling. As for the intermediate course, subjects offered will include political theology, major themes in the Old Testament, Pauline epistles, Chinese church history, pastoral theology, counselling and growth, Christian education and democracy, and sociology of religion. N ew squash c o u r ts on the 3rd lower ground floor of the Shaw College Student Hostel are now open for use. The courts are open daily except on Wednesdays and Sundays from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. Admission fee per session (45 minutes) is $10 for students and $20 for staff. An additional charge of $10 w i ll be levied on each accompanied guest. Information on booking procedures may be obtained from the information counter at Room G07, Low Block, Shaw College Student Hostel or by calling 6035088. General inquiries should be directed to Mr. Lau Wing Chung at ext. 2096. Ch i l d r en Bus Service 1990-91 Applications are now invited from staff members living on campus whose children w i ll need to use the children bus-service to travel to and from school in 1990-91. There will be nine routes covering areas like Kowloon Tong, Homantin and Tsimshatsui. As the service will be run by contractor buses on a self-supporting basis, under subscribed routes w i ll not be operated. Rates for 1990-91 are as follows: Service Monthly Fee ($) Two-way 330 One-way 280 To and from Chung Chi Nursary 120 Application forms are obtainable from the Transport Unit. Local Education A l l owances (LEA) Members of staff who are entitled to claim LEA for their dependent children in 1990-91 are requested to complete an application form for each child and return it to the Personnel Section with receipts of school-fees as early as possible. Please direct all enquiries to the Personnel Section at Ext. 2224.
