Yuen, reader in paediatrics, has been appointed by HE the Governor as a member of the Advisory Council on AIDs for one year from 1st August 1993. • Prof. Thomas C. W. Mak of the Department of Chemistry has been appointed as a member of the academic committee of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Fujian Institute of Research on the Structural Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, for three years from July 1993. Prof. Mak has also been appointed a member of the editorial board of t h e Chemistry Journal of Chinese Universities for five years from October 1993. • Prof. Vincent Lum of the Department of Systems Engineering has been invited to serve as a member of the advisory board for the Department of Computer Studies at Lingnan College for two years from 1st September 1993. Prof. Lum has also been invited by the Hong Kong Productivity Council to serve as a member of the judging panel for the Governor's Award for Industry (Productivity Award) 1993. • Dr. Ignatius T. S. Yu, lecturer in community and family medicine, has been invited to serve as an honorary member of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong Preventive Medical Association for three years fromAugust 1993. • Dr. Tsao Poon Yee, lecturer in music, has been invited to serve as an honorary advisor of the Hong Kong Museum of History for two years from 1st October 1993. • Mr. Mark Sheldon, director of the Office of Academic Links, has been appointed as a member of the Committee on US - China Educational Exchanges of NAFSA (Association of International Educators) for three years. • Prof. Charles K.
