4 No. 203 19th May 2002 CUHK Newsletter 宣 布 事項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 新任書院院長 New College Heads 大學校董會依據《香港中文大學條例》規程 9 第 1 段及第 3 段的規定，並經由規程 9 第 1 段及規程 16 第 6 ( b ) 段所組成的委員會推薦，委任化學講座教授黃乃正教授繼梁秉中 教授出任新亞書院院長，以及委任生物化學系教授馮國培教授繼黃鈞堯教授出任聯合書 院院長；兩人任期均為四年，由二零零二年八月一日起生效。 The University Council has appointed in accordance with Statute 9.1 and 9.3 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, the following persons as Head of the respective colleges each for a period of four years from 1st August 2002, as recommended by the respective committees constituted in accordance with Statutes 9.1 and 16.6(b) of the Ordinance: (a) Prof. Henry N.C. Wong, Professor of Chemistry, as Head of New Asia College, succeeding Prof. P.C. Leung; and (b) Prof. Fung Kwok-pui, Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, as Head of United College, succeeding Prof. Wong Kwan-yiu. 學院院長 Faculty Deans •外科講座教授鍾尚志教授依大學規程 15 第 3 段及第 4 段，獲選續任醫學院院長，任期三 年，由二零零二年七月一日起生效。 •決策科學與企業經濟學系李天生教授依大學規程 15 第 3 段及第 4 段，獲選為工商管理學 院院長，任期三年，由二零零二年八月一日起生效。 •地理與資源管理學講座教授梁怡教授依大學規程 15 第 3 段及第 4 段，獲選為社會科學院 院長，任期三年，由二零零二年八月一日起生效。 • Prof. Sydney Chung, professor of surgery, has been re-elected in accordance with Statute 15.3 and 15.4 of the Ordinance, as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for a term of three years from 1st July 2002. • Prof. Lee Tien Sheng, professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, has been elected in accordance with Statute 15.3 and 15.4 of the Ordinance, as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration for a term of three years from 1st August 2002. • Prof. Leung Yee, professor of geography and resource management, has been elected in accordance with Statute 15.3 and 15.4 of the Ordinance, as Dean of the Faculty of Social Science for a term of three years from 1st August 2002. 酒店管理學院易名 School of Hotel Management Renamed 經教務會推薦，大學校董會已通過將工商管理學院轄下的酒店管理學院改稱為酒店及 旅遊管理學院，由二零零二年五月八日起生效。 On the recommendation of the Senate, the University Council has approved the renaming of the School of Hotel Management under the Faculty of Business Administration as the School of Hotel and Tourism Management with effect from 8th May 2002. 收費及暑期免費校車服務 Fee-Charging & Non-Fee-Charging Bus Service for Staff in Summer 交通組提醒大學同人，由一九九二年起，所有校內穿梭校車之乘客，在下列日期內乘 搭穿梭校車時，每次必須繳交面值一元之乘車券： (一）星期日及公眾假期； (二）每年六、七、八月（選科及註冊日除外）。 乘車券每本十張，費用九元，辦公時間在四院學生輔導處、大學紀念品銷售處（富爾 敦樓）、研究生宿舍及研究生宿舍辦事處、威爾斯親王醫院教習醫院院務室、交通組及保 安組（二十四小時）發售。 而校方為方便教職員上、下班，由六月一日至八月卅一日期間，提供不收費之教職員 專用班車服務，每班一車次，按下述時間路線行駛： 上行線 星期一至六（兩班次） 上午八時三十分及八時四十分 由嶺南體育館開出，往新亞書院。中途停大學體育中 心、潤昌堂、馮景禧樓及聯合書院。 下行線 星期一至五（兩班次） 下午五時零五分及五時二十分 星期六（一班次） 下午十二時四十五分 由新亞書院開出，往火車站。中途停聯合書院、大學 行政樓、五旬節會樓（前研究院宿舍）及大學體育中 心。 查詢請致電交通組（內線七九九零或七九九二）。 Passengers of the University shuttle buses have since 1992 been required to tender one- dollar coupons on the following days: 1. Sundays and public holidays; 2. A ll days in June, July, and August except course selection and registration days. Such coupons come in booklets of 10 at the price of $9 per booklet and may be purchased (during office hours) from the College Dean of Students' Offices, the University Souvenir Counter at the John Fulton Centre, the Postgraduate Hall General Office and all Postgraduate Halls, Clinical Sciences Administration (Prince of Wales Hospital), the Transport Unit, and the Security Unit (24-hour). The University also provides a non-fee-charging bus service during the months of June, July, and August (except on Sundays and public holidays) for staff members. To tie in with University working hours, the bus will run as per the following schedule from 1st June to 31st August this summer. Up Route Monday to Saturday At 8.30 a.m. and 8.40 a.m. (two trips per day) Lingnan Stadium → University Sports Centre → Y.C. The appointees must be full-time, degree-holding University staff. Since this is a concurrent appointment, only free accommodation will be provided and no other allowance will be granted. Major duties are to help organize and promote hostel activities, and to assist in administrative duties in the hall office. Application forms are available in the Postgraduate Hall General Office, and completed forms should be addressed to Ms. June Yuen. For enquiries, please contact Ms. Yuen at 2603 7574.
