宣布事項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 大學設施命名 Naming of Facilities 大學校董會執行委員會於四月十九日的會議上通 過以下設施的命名： •外科學系微創治療技術培訓中心命名為「香港中文 大學賽馬會微創醫療技術培訓中心」，以誌香港賽 馬會慈善信託基金承諾捐款二千八百二十萬港元。 •醫學院防疫研究中心的 P3 實驗室命名為「羅桂祥防 疫研究實驗室」，以誌羅桂祥基金捐款五百萬港元。 The Executive Committee of the University Council has at its meeting on 19th April 2005 approved : • th e naming of the Skills Centre for Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Department of Surgery as the CUHK Jockey Club Minimally Invasiv e Surgical Skills Centre , in recognition o f a pledged donation o f HK$28. 2 millio n b y The Hong Kon g Jockey Club Charities Trust; and • th e naming o f a new pre-fabricated P- 3 laboratory a t the Centre for Emergin g Infectious Disease s of the Faculty o f Medicine as the Lo Kwee-Seon g Research Laboratory o f Infectious Diseases, in recognition of a donation of HK$5 millio n by the K.S. Fee rebate has not been reflected. 哈佛燕京學社進修資助計劃 Scholarships/Fellowships at the Harvard-Yenching Institute 哈佛燕京學社現接受本校人文學科和社會科學教員申請二零零六至二零零七年 度進修資助計劃。 (一)訪問學人資助計劃 此計劃資助教員前往哈佛大學進修或從事研究工作，為期十一個月。申請人必 須於遞交申請時未滿四十二歲。資助項目包括單人來回機票、生活津貼(以十一 個月為限）、醫療及保險。 (二)訪問研究員資助計劃 此計劃資助博士研究生前往哈佛大學從事研究工作，為期十個月。從事有關東 亞研究的申請人將獲優先考慮。申請人須於本年九月或以前參加托福考試 (TOEFL)。 資助項目包括交通、訪問研究員津貼及生活津貼。 (三)博士研究獎學金計劃 此計劃資助資歷較淺的教員前往哈佛大學或其他 海外大學進修博士學位課程。申請人須於本年九 月或以前參加托福考試 (TOEFL )和報考美國大學 畢業生試 (GRE) ，並獲哈佛或其他海外大學取錄 為博士研究生(錄取通知書可於稍後呈交）。獎學 金為期一學年，期滿可申請續期。資助項目包括 交通、學費、醫療及生活津貼。 申請人須把填妥的申請表格和有關文件，於二零 零五年五月十八日或以前，經有關學系系主任及學院院長送交人事主任盧杜燕萍女 士 ，俾轉呈教師審議委員會考慮。申請表格可於人事處網頁(http: //perntc.per.cuhk. edu.hk/personnel/external.asp )下載。 哈佛燕京學社的代表將於今秋來港接見獲大學推薦的申請人。查詢請電人事處 (二六零九七一九一或二零六九七二八八）。 Applications/nominations ar e now invited from faculty members in the humanities and social sciences for the following three Harvard-Yenching Programmes tenabl e in 2006-7 : 1. Visiting Scholars Programme This programme offers younger faculty member s in the humanities an d social sciences the opportunity to undertake 1 1 month s of study and research at Harvard University. Applicant s mus t b e 4 2 year s o f ag e o r younge r a t th e dat e o f application. The scholarship will cover : -round-trip transportatio n by ai r for the scholar ; - a stipen d of US$2,450 per month for the period of residence in Cambridge , Massachusetts (u p to 1 1 months); and -fees fo r health insurance and the use of the Harvard clinic . 2. Visiting Fellows Programme This programme provides advance d Ph.D. candidates (graduat e student s an d junior facult y members ) an opportunity t o do dissertation research at Harvard University for 10 months. Preference is given to junior faculty members working in East Asian Studies. TOEFL scor e is required for application to the institute. The fellowship will cover : -transportation t o and from Cambridge, Massachusetts ; -payment o f the Harvard University Visiting Fellows fee; and - a stipen d adequate for a single scholar . 3. Doctoral Scholarship Programme This programme allows junior facult y member s to study abroad for a Ph.D. i n the humanities or social sciences at one of the major universities in the United States and other countries. Applications fo r institut e scholarship s ar e separate from application s fo r admissio n to graduat e programmes. TOEFL scor e an d GRE report are required for application to the institute. Scholarships are given for a period of one academic year , and are renewable for up to three and half years. The scholars will be provided with : -transportation t o and from Cambridge, Massachusetts, if attendin g Harvar d University (i n the case of another university, to and from that university) ; -tuition; -health insurance; and - a livin g stipend . (The stipend will be adjusted according to the local cost o f living and other sources of support.
