Prof. Sian Griffiths, Professor of Public Health and director of the School of Public Health, has been appointed as an honorary professor of Guangzhou Medical University with effect from 16 March 2009. Prof. Chan Kay-sheung Paul, professor in the Department of Microbiology, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Chan Yan-keung Thomas, professor in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Suzanne C. Ho, Professor of Community and Family Medicine, has been re-appointed as a member of the Hospital Government Committee of Cheshire Home, Shatin for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Lee Lai Chun-hing Annisa, assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Communication, has been appointed by the Permanent Secretary for Education as a member of the Mass Communications Training Board of the Vocational Training Council for two years from 1 April 2009. Dr. Ting Sun-pao Joseph, honorary senior research fellow in the Centre for Comparative and Public History, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Council of the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Wong Chi-sum, professor in the Department of Management, has been appointed by the Permanent Secretary for Education as a member of the Committee on Management and Supervisory Training of the Vocational Training Council for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Wong Po-choi, professor in the Department of Information Engineering, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Jean Woo, Professor of Medicine, has been re- appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Elderly Commission for one year and four months from 1 April 2009. Dr. Wu Po-him Philip, adjunct professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust and Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund for two years from 1 April 2009. Prof. Chan Chi-fai Andrew, professor in the Department of Marketing, has been appointed as a member of the reconstituted Lump Sum Grant Steering Committee for two years from 22 April 2009. Prof. Lo Nai-kwai Leslie, Professor of Educational Administration and Policy, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Council of The Hong Kong Institute of Education for one year from 25 April 2009. Prof. Yum Tak-shing Peter, dean of engineering, has been appointed by the Secretary for the Environment as a member of the Appeal Board Panel established under the Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance for three years from 27 April 2009.
