The switching will be gradually performed by the Bursary through investment manager starting from May 2014 and will be completed in December 2014. Cumulative returns are for the past twelve months from 1 November 2013. The return data include a premium or a discount between the Market Price and the Net Asset Value of iShares FTSE A50 China Index ETF (2823). In October, there was an increase in premium of 0.94% and for the twelve months from November 2013 to October 2014, the premium decreased by 3.20%. * * 實際與指標回報已包括有關期間內之匯率變動。 Both actual and benchmark returns include foreign currency exchange difference for the month. 十九世紀中西文化關係研討會 Colloquium on Cultural Relations between China and the West in the Long Nineteenth Century 英文系將於12月8及9日舉辦「十九世紀中西文化關係（約1750 – 1914）」研討會，與會學者來 自澳洲、英國、美國、內地及香港。此乃世界大學聯盟屬下之「浪漫主義時期的中國」專案的 第二次會議，首次研討會於2013年11月在悉尼大學舉行。查詢詳情，請致電3943 7006，或 電 郵english@cuhk.edu.hk 。 The Department of English will host a colloquium on ‘Cultural Relations between China and the West in the Long Nineteenth Century (c. 1750–1914)’ on 8 and 9 December 2014. Scholars from Australia, the UK, the US, mainland China and Hong Kong will attend the event. This is the second colloquium arising from the Worldwide Universities Network’s project on ‘Romantic China’, following the first held at the University of Sydney in November 2013. Lee, for a further period of three years from 27 November 2014. 文物館展覽 Art Museum Exhibition 萬象神采─二義草堂藏近代中國書畫展覽 日期 : 即日至2015年5月17日 地點 : 文物館展廳 I 二義草堂主人收藏近代中國繪畫逾四十載，其藏品宏觀地展示了十九世紀末至二十世紀中國 水墨畫的發展歷程。是次展覽精選自二義草堂七十件珍貴收藏，皆出自大師之手，包括齊白 石（1864 – 1957）、徐悲鴻（1895 – 1953）、張大千（1899 – 1983）、林風眠（1900 – 1990）、 傅抱石（1904 – 1965）及李可染（1907 – 1989）。當中不少畫作均於七十至八十年代被納為二 義草堂藏品，當時的中國正從文化大革命的浩劫中逐漸復蘇，而香港的經濟起飛亦孕育了一 批新晉收藏家。二義草堂主人不僅是典型的成功香港商人，他更醉心收藏中國書畫及廣交傑 出藝術家，至今熱情不減。由此可見，中國近代藝術收藏除了與藝術家的生活及創作緊緊相 連，也與中港關係密不可分。 Splendid Images: Chinese Paintings from Eryi Caotang Collection Exhibition Date : From now to 17 May 2015 Venue : Gallery I, Art Museum Having collected modern Chinese paintings for over four decades, the master of Eryi Caotang has assembled an extraordinary collection that provides an overview of the development of Chinese ink painting from the late 19th century to the 20th century. The exhibition features 70 pieces by well-known masters including Qi Baishi (1864– 1957), Xu Beihong (1895–1953), Zhang Daqian (1899–1983), Lin Fengmian (1900–1990), Fu Baoshi (1904–1965), and Li Keran (1907– 1989). Many were collected during the 1970s and 1980s, when China gradually recovered from the aftermath of the devastating Cultural Revolution and when Hong Kong’s economic boom fostered a new group of collectors. The master of Eryi Caotang was a typical Hong Kong businessman of that period, and his success in business led to his lifelong passion for Chinese painting and friendships with many prominent artists.
