New Asia College 57th Anniversary Activities and Mentorship Programme


  • 57th Anniversary Activities

    The celebration of the 57th Founders' Day of New Asia College and the birthday of Confucius was held from 14th September to 21st October. The scholarships presentation ceremony was held on 22nd September in Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. Prof. Henry N.C. Wong, Head of the College, together with members of the College's Board of Trustees and scholarship donors presented honorary certificates of various college scholarships for the academic year 2005-06. Mr. Shum Yat-fei, an alumnus of the college, a renowned local columnist, and, programme host on radio and television served as the ceremony's guest of honour and presented Cheng Ming Awards, the highest honour bestowed on students of New Asia College, to two recipients. A tea reception, a banquet and a carnival Nite were held on 29th September.

 

  • Mentorship Programme

    Over a hundred mentors and mentees participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Mentorship Programme took place on 14th October at Yun Chi Hsien.

    The function began with a welcoming speech by Mr. Tong Wai Chuen, President of the Alumni Association. It was followed by words of encouragement by Prof. Henry N.C. Wong, Head of the College.

    Mentors and mentees then introduced themselves to one another on the occasion and further activities were arranged.
