In celebration of its 55th Anniversary, Chung Chi College presented the Exhibition of 'Education on Wings of Music' jointly with the Department of Music and the University Library System from 16th to 30th October 2006.
The University's Department of Music is a pioneer in the provision of tertiary-level music training in Hong Kong and it has been affiliated to Chung Chi College since its establishment in 1965. Selected Asian and Western instruments, both ancient and contemporary, as well as scores will be displayed in the exhibition of '40 Years of Teaching Music at CUHK' was held in the exhibition hall, University Library. Meanwhile, an exhibition on 'Chung Chi Musicians' showcaseing the many achievements of music alumni of the college was held at the lobby of Chung Chi College Elisabeth Luce Moore Library.
The opening ceremony of 'Education on Wings of Music' was held on 16th October 2006 at 4.45 p.m. at the Exhibition Hall of the University Library. Prof. Leung Yuen Sang, Head of Chung Chi College, Prof. Michael Edward McClellan, Chairman, Department of Music, Dr. Colin Storey, University Librarian, and Prof. Leung Yee, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 55th Anniversary of Chung Chi College, officiated at the ceremony.
