A total of 79 student delegates from Chung Chi College and universities such as Princeton University, the University of California, Berkeley, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, took part in the 2008 Summer Programme of Lee Shiu Centre of Intercultural Learning from July 8 to August 5, 2008 first in Beijing, Singapore and then Hong Kong.
This year’s theme was ‘China Rising: In Pursuit of One World One Dream’, and students were divided into small groups to research around the theme from five major perspectives, namely, public governance, rule of law, economic development, education and culture, and social services. A series of seminars, organization visits, workshops, field trips plus high table dinners were coordinated for their research and also for broadening their horizons during the month long programme.
