Over 30 senior Chinese government health officials attended the first Flagship Course on Health Sector Reform and Sustainable Financing for China held at the University’s School of Public Health (SPH) from 26 November to 7 December 2007.
Jointly organized by SPH, the Chinese Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Bank Institute, the course aimed at training up a new generation of Chinese teachers. It offered an integrated analytical framework for health officials to better prepare for the coming reform activities, as well as a forum for discussion with international experts.
Participants were taught principles and skills covering topics such as ethics, political analysis, economics, and problem diagnosis. They also paid visits to the Hospital Authority headquarters and the Prince of Wales Hospital.
