Prof. Xing Guoliang (left) and Prof. Angela Zhang (right) of the Department of Information Engineering were just elected Fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Acclaimed for his work in embedded artificial intelligence, internet of things, information security and wireless networks, Professor Xing currently leads several large research projects on smart cities and smart health. A wireless communication expert specializing in radio resource allocation and the smart power grid, Professor Zhang develops efficacious algorithms for resource allocation in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, multiple-input multiple-output and heterogeneous cellular systems.
