A Big Gift to Our Smallest Ones
The Faculty of Medicine received a sum of US$2.5 million (about HK$19.5 million) from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to research how mother’s health, environment and diet shape babies’ gut microbiota. The study would help prevent the onset of and hopefully cure Crohn’s and other diseases, and facilitate the development of drugs.
