Congregation Goes Virtual

Eighty-eighth Congregation for the Conferment of Degrees held online

CUHK held its 88th Congregation for the Conferment of Degrees between 19 and 21 November.

In light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the University had decided to hold the graduation ceremonies online via live broadcast for the graduates and their families and friends to safeguard everyone’s health.

The master’s and bachelor’s graduation ceremonies were divided into 17 sessions. The nine CUHK Colleges, including Chung Chi College, New Asia College, United College, Shaw College, Morningside College, S.H. Ho College, C.W. Chu College, Wu Yee Sun College and Lee Woo Sing College, conferred the bachelor’s degrees on 19 November, while the eight Faculties, including the Faculties of Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science, held the master’s degree graduation ceremonies on 20 and 21 November.

A total of 6,394 master’s degrees and 4,761 bachelor’s degrees were conferred at the Congregation. Among the latter were 628 Bachelor of Arts, 1,069 Bachelor of Business Administration, 54 Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, 55 Bachelor of Education, 432 Bachelor of Engineering, 95 Bachelor of Laws, 31 Bachelor of Chinese Medicine, 223 Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, 252 Bachelor of Nursing, 53 Bachelor of Pharmacy, 1,161 Bachelor of Science, and 654 Bachelor of Social Science.
