M r . F a ng assumed his present post of Vice-President of U n i t ed College in 1963. He is married w i t h five children. H i s wife, a social worker, is a field wo rk supervisor in the Board of Social Studies at the Un i v e r s i ty of H o n g K o n g. Mr, Robert N. Rayne, Vice-President, Chung Chi College Bo rn in K e n ya Colony in 1913, M r . Rayne was educated at boarding schools i n En g l a nd and at Brasenose College, O x f o rd (Greek and L a t in Classics). He taught at Bo l t on School, Lancashire 1937-1940, b u t became a b omb er pilot in the Royal A i r Force f r om 1940 to 1945. D u r i n g the last three years of the war he was held a prisoner in Ge r ma n y. I n 1946 M r . Rayne served in the Education Branch of the Co n t r ol Commissio n for Ge rma n y. L a t er he taught at Manchester G r ammar School for three years u n t il 1950 and then at the Un i v e r s i ty of Keele f r om its foundation i n 1950 (as the Un i v e r s i ty College of N o r t h Staffordshire) as lecturer in Classics and Wa r d en of H o r w o od Ha l l. M r . Rayne is married and has a son aged 15 and a daughter aged 11. Dr. Amhew T. Roy, Vice-President for Public Re l a t i o n s , Chung Chi College A native T e x an b o rn in 1903, D r . A n d r ew Roy graduated f r om Wa s h i n g t on and Lee Un i v e r s i ty in 1925 w i t h a chemistry degree. H e then we n t for a year's study of English and philosophy at Princeton Un i v e r s i ty where he earned an M . A . in philosophy in 1938 and ten years later his P h . D. Between his periods of study at Princeton, D r . Roy held various position s and attended several other schools. F r om 1926 to 1928 he was a travelling secretary in the Student De p a r t me nt of the Y M C A . F o l l ow i ng this he studied theology for a year in E d i n b u r g h, Scotland and then later attended the College of Chinese Studies i n Peking in 1931-32. A f t e r wa r ds D r . Roy taught and d id Christian student wo rk in N a n k i ng u n t il 1936. D u r i n g the war years he wa s the director of religious activities and p a r t - t i me lecturer for four Christian universities i n Chengtu. I n 1954 D r . Roy came to H o n g K o n g and taught philosophy and ethics at C h u ng C h i College at wh i ch he also served as Chaplain. Presently he holds the posts of Vice-President for Publi c Relations and senior lecturer i n the De p a r t me nt of Sociology and Social Wo r k. D r . Roy is the author of t wo books: Risk and Hope and On Asia's Rim. He is ma r r i ed w i t h t wo sons. NEW UNIVERSI TY STAFF Mr. Paul Yen, Finance Officer Born in H o n g K o n g in 1926, M r . Yen attended Queen's College before W o r l d Wa r I I . D u r i n g the war, he served i n the Chinese A r m y . M r . Y en returned to H o n g K o n g in 1945 and attained extensive practical experience in accounting and b a n k i ng d u r i ng his eight years of service w i t h British and Chinese h a n k i ng institutions in H o n g K o n g. I n 1953’ he j o i n ed the Da i rv F a rm Co. where he held various positions, i n c l u d i ng the supervision of the general operations of accounting affairs.
