52   Chinese University Bulletin No. 1, 2009 Intellectual Cross-currents Yu Kwang-chung's Memories of Hong Kong T he exhibition ‘Memories of Hong Kong–The Literary Life of Yu Kwang-chung’ was held at the exhibition hall of the University Library from 15 December 2008 to 7 January 2009. Prof. Yu officiated at the opening ceremony on 15 December and hosted a talk to an audience of 500. He also recited some of his poems. Jointly organized by the Faculty of Arts, United College and the University Library System, the exhibition placed special emphasis on Prof. Yu’s literary achievements during his stay in Hong Kong. On display were the manuscripts, letters, photos and private collections of Prof. Yu. In Conversation with Margaret Atwood T he Department of English organized ‘Margaret Atwood in Conversation with Prof. David Parker’ on 16 March 2009 on campus. About 600 staff and students from CUHK, secondary school students, and members of the public were in attendance. Atwood, a renowned novelist and poet, has received many awards including the 2000 Man Booker Prize throughout her 30 years of writing. She is the author of more than 35 volumes of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
