The centre devotes its main efforts to study companies in China and compare Chinese companies with those in other countries. Research findings will help companies to adopt best practices to enhance their global competitiveness. Main research directions include: relationship management and supply chain integrations, supply chain strategies and practices, supply chain structure and logistics service quality. The mission of the center is to promote collaboration in supply chain and logistics management and internet technologies in the Pearl River Delta (PRD), to foster excellence in supply chain/logistics management technologies and practices, to provide showcases for application software and examples. In particular, • Based on the existing supply chain/logistics research results, to strengthen collaborations between two universities, to broaden research areas and applications • Based on the demands of PRD, to develop application software, to promote industry applications of research results • To foster a strong relationship between two universities and the business and industrial communities, and advise the business communities, public institutions and government department on business opportunities, best practices and technologic trend in supply chain and logistics management • Provide a platform for advance education is supply chain and logistics management including to establish laboratory facilities for both software and hardware development, and to identify and write business case of PRD supply chain and logistics management.
