No.47 October 1993 CUHK Newsletter American Studies Resource Library The American Studies Resource Library of the Hong Kong-America Center is now open to the public. The opening hours are: Monday - Friday 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Closed public holidays The resource library is located at the basement of the University Library and is operated by the University Library System. Current holdings include 8,000 volumes of books donated by the American Library of the United States Information Service, and 2,500 volumes on William Faulkner and other Southern American writers donated by Prof. James B. Meriwether of the University of South Carolina. Dogs and Cats Regulations The Security Unit wishes to remind members of the University who live on campus and keep dogs or cats in their residences to observe relevant clauses in the Dogs and Cats Regulations and the Summary Offences Regulations issued by the Hong Kong Government. Special attention is drawn to clauses concerning dog licensing and inoculation against rabies. Any one who violates such regulations will be liable to fines or imprisonment. A ll owners of dogs and cats should keep their pets under control to ensure the safety of others on the campus.
