He has also been re-appointed by the Financial Secretary as a member of the Task Force on Employment for two years from 21st October 2002. • Prof. Chan Wing-wah, professor of music, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the General Committee of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society for one year from 1st November 2002. • Prof. Margaret Ip, associate professor in the Department of Microbiology, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the H K S AR as a member of the Appeal Board on Closure Orders (Immediate Health Hazard) for three years from 15th November 2002. • Prof. Ng Pak Cheung, professor in the Department of Paediatrics, has been appointed by the Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food as a member of the Supplementary Medical Professions Council for three years from 1st October 2002. • Prof. Thomas Chan Yan Keung, professor in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, has been appointed by the Director of Health as a member of the Drug Selection Committee of the Department of Health for two years from 1st October 2002. • Prof. Che Chun Tao, director of the School of Chinese Medicine, has been re-appointed by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong as a member of the Registration Committee of Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board of the Chinese Medicine Council for three years from 1st November 2002. • Mrs. Lo Tam Fee Yin, instructor at the New Asia — Yale-in-China Chinese Language Centre, has been re-appointed by Hong Kong Arts Development Council as an examiner for one year from 1st October 2002. • Prof. Clive Stewart Cockram, professor of medicine, has been re-nominated as a member of the Education and Accreditation Committee of the Medical Council of Hong Kong for three years from 2nd February 2003. Prof. Cockram also attended the World Health Organization Special Global Forum of Noncommunicable Disease Prevention and Control held in Shanghai from 4th to 6th November 2002, representing the International Diabetes Federation. • Prof. Tam Man Kwan, professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Policy, has been invited by the National People's Congress to serve as a member of the Election Committee since July 2002. He has also been invited by the I.T. Education Centre of the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers to serve as an honorary adviser since September 2002 and by Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon to serve as an adviser of the Professional Development Scheme for School Administrators since October 2002. • Prof. Albert Lee, associate professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine, has been appointed by the Asia Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) as a member of the Editorial Board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Public Health for two years from September 2002. • Prof. Hong Youlian, professor in the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, has been appointed by the publisher Taylor & Francis (since 1798) to be editor-in-chief of the quarterly publication Research in Sports Medicine: An International Journal for three years from 1st January 2003.
