中大通訊 CUHK Newsletter 大學游泳池通告 University Swimming Pool Notice 大學游泳池已於2008年5月8日（星期四）上午10時30分重新開放。開放時間如下： The University Swimming Pool was re-opened on 8 May 2008 (Thursday) at 10:30 am. Prof. Zhao has taught and worked as writer-in-residence in various institutions in the US and Europe. His poetry, novels and prose have been translated into 30 languages. Prof. Zhao has received numerous honours including the International Poetry Argana Award from the House of Poetry in Morocco; the Guggenheim Fellowship; the Tucholsky Prize from Swedish PEN; and the Jeanette Schocken Literary Prize— Bremerhaven, Germany. He was a visiting scholar of CUHK in 2006. 《高行健藝術節》─ 舞台劇世界首演《山海經傳》 Gao Xingjian Arts Festival: World Premiere Of Mountains and Seas 《山海經傳》是高行健為梳理中國神話系統、恢復遠古的率真情懷之作。透過 「后羿射日」、「炎黃之戰」和「大禹治水」三個神話，觀衆得窺中國文化原 型，同時接收到現代主題訊息。是次為足本世界首演，演出前45分鐘設有市集， 持票人士可免費進場。 《高行健藝術節》由香港中文大學與法國駐香港及澳門總領事館聯合主辦，活動 內容詳見 www.gxjartsfest2008.com 及 www.hkticketing.com ， 或致電2609 7855。 Mr. Gao Xingjian’s intention of writing Of Mountains and Seas is to set the genre in order and to restore the innocence and purity in Chinese mythology. The three main stories in the play are ‘Yi the Archer’, ‘The War between Yan Di and Huang Di’ and ‘Yu the Great’. Through them, the audience is allowed a glimpse of Chinese cultural archetypes imbued with modern messages. Due to the play’s complexity, Of Mountains and Seas has not been staged before. A carnival, free for ticket holders to the show, will be held 45 minutes before the performance. The Gao Xingjian Arts Festival is co-presented by the CUHK and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau. Li Marine Science Laboratory, has been appointed by the Secretary for Food and Health as a member of the Marine Fish Scholarship Fund Advisory Committee for two years from 1 April 2008. Prof. Sung Yun-wing, chairman of the Department of Economics, has been appointed as the chairman of the Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Co-operation (HKCPEC) for two years from 1 April 2008. Miss Mak Hoi-shanAnson, instructor in the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, has been appointed by the 13th Hong Kong Independent Short Film & Video Awards (IFVA) as a member of the jury panel of open category from 15 March to 23 March 2008. • • • Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Professor of Automation and Computer-aided Engineering, has been appointed as advisor, the Decision and Advisory Committee, Shenzhen Municipal Government. Mr. Ho Hing-kay Oscar, professional consultant in the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, has been appointed as an international committee member in the search for an artistic director for ‘Documenta 13’, one of the world’s most important and highly-acclaimed exhibitions of contemporary art in Germany.
