New labels for the 2008–09 school year, valid from 1 October 2008, are ready for collection. You are required to return the old label when submitting your application for the new one. Selected participants will receive all-around training on concepts of health promotion, nutrition and exercise, knowledge in first aid and skills in event organization etc. Upon completion of the training, they will be tasked with the mission of organizing health promotion activities for students and staff. Certificates will be awarded and prominent ambassadors will be selected for exchange opportunities at mainland universities for free. Application forms can be obtained from the Health Education Unit, 1/F University Health Centre, College Offices, or downloaded at www.cuhk.edu.hk/uhs . Application will close on 26 September 2008. 2008 – 09年度學生工讀計劃基金 Student Campus Work Scheme 2008–09 學生工讀計劃基金現已開始接受教職員申請。 工讀計劃的目的是讓有經濟需要的同學利用課餘時間，協助教職員進行研究或其他工 作，以獲取報酬。 工作性質須為： 1) 協助大學教員從事研究工作； 2) 為行政人員（助理主任級或以上）提供短期之額外人力支援； 3) 其他經學生工讀計劃委員會批准之工作。 2007 – 08年度本科生及研究生工讀報酬為每小時港幣五十元，由學生工讀計劃委員會 每年檢討。 教職員可向其所屬部門或行政單位主管索取申請表格，填妥後交回碧秋樓332室入 學及學生資助處獎學金及經濟援助組學生工讀計劃委員會秘書收，截止申請日期為 2008年10月3日。 Applications for grants under the Student Campus Work Scheme are now invited from members of the academic and administrative staff. The aim of the scheme is to help needy students by providing opportunities for paid campus work, in the form of assisting University academics/administrators in their projects. The nature of the work should be confined to: 1) assisting academic staff in their research projects; 2) assisting administrative staff (Executive Officer rank or above) in projects which require a large task-force on a short-term basis; 3) any other job assignments as may be approved by the Committee on Student Campus Work Scheme. Remuneration for undergraduates and postgraduates is HK$50/hour for 2007–08 (subject to review annually by the Committee on Student Campus Work Scheme) Application forms have been sent to the heads of departments and administrative units. Staff members who are interested in applying should obtain application forms from their offices and return the completed forms to the Secretary, Committee on Student Campus Work Scheme, c/o Scholarships and Financial Aid Section, Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, Room 332, Pi Ch’iu Building, no later than 3 October 2008. 新東區校門 New Eastern Gate 由2008年9月1日早上7時開始，新設立在科學園路香港生物科技研究院外的校園東區 校門將會開始運作，現時的校園東區入口將在2008年8月31日晚上11時59分關閉。屆 時區內將會放置路牌以指示往返該新校門的路徑。 Please be informed that w.e.f. 7:00 am on 1 September 2008, a new Eastern Gate will be in operation at the Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology, Science Park Road. The existing Eastern Gate will be closed at 11:59 pm on 31 August 2008. There will be appropriate signage to direct traffic to the new gate.
