The second batch of uBuddies of the Peer Counselling Network attended the graduation ceremony on 11 January 2012 after the completion of training and a number of service projects (individual counselling, sharing groups for new students, e-mail box, video production, publication, etc.). Led by Mr. Raymond Leung, director of Student Affairs, the newly recruited batch of uBuddies ’12 pledged their commitment to the Peer Counselling Network and to the promotion of a caring campus in CUHK in the coming year. During an onstage chat, the Guest-of-Honour, Prof. Dennis Ng, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor, shared with the audience his thoughts and experiences on 'caring'.

Established in 2010, the ‘uBuddies’ Peer Counselling Network was a part of the ‘Caring Campus’ Campaign launched by the Office of Student Affairs in 2009–10 with the aim to fostering mutual care and support among students and promoting a caring culture within the campus community.

Two videos, one was produced by the uBuddies on the meaning of university life, and the other documented the journey of personal growth of the uBuddies, can be viewed at the webpage of the Student Counselling and Development Service of the Office of Student Affairs.

On the same day, the Office of Student Affairs also presented awards to the winners of the e-Caring Card Design Competition. A total of 38 designs adopting the theme of ‘Warm Wishes From Our Caring Campus’ were received from students and staff. Winners of the student category were Wong Ka-ki (Champion), Zhang Xiaoli (First Runner-Up) and Ho Pui-lam (Second Runner-Up) while winners of the staff category included Wong Wan-yee (Champion & First Runner-Up) and Winnie Ho Hau-sin (Second Runner-Up).
