He has also been appointed by the Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands as amember of the Metro Planning Committee of the Town Planning Board for two years from 1st April 2004. • Prof. Christopher John Haines, professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Council on Human Reproductive Technology for three years from 11th April 2004. • Prof. Lee Chi Chung Archie, professor i n the Department of Religion, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Council on Human Reproductive Technology for three years from 11th April 2004. • Prof. Japhet Law, professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Air Transport Licensing Authority for two years from 1st August 2004. • Prof. Ching Pak Chung, professor of electronic engineering, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for Economic Development and Labour as a member of the Electrical Safety Advisory Committee for two years from 6th April 2004, • Prof. Diana T.F. Lee, professor in the Nethersole School of Nursing, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for Health and Welfare as a member of the Residential Care Homes (Elderly Persons) Appeal Board for two years from 25th April 2004. She has also been appointed by the chairman of the Nursing Council of Hong Kong as a co- opted member of the Accreditation Committee for one year from 1st March 2004. • Prof. Chan Wing Wah, professor of music, has been re- appointed by the Secretary for Home Affairs as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund for three years from 1st April 2004. Prof. Chan also conducted the Hong Kong Japanese Club Choir, Hong Kong Oratorio Society, and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra to perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in the 17th HK-Japan Joint Charity Concert on 14th March 2004 in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. • Dr. Pang Kwok Hung Kenneth, director of the University Health Service, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food as a member of the Residential Care Homes (Elderly Persons) Appeal Board for two years from 25th April 2004. • Prof. Fok Tai-fai, associate dean (administration) and dean-elect of the Faculty of Medicine, has been nominated as a member of the Hospital Governing Committee of Prince of Wales Hospital and the Regional Advisory Committee of the New Territories from 1st May 2004, succeeding Prof. Sydney S.C. Chung. • Prof. Chan Chi Fai Andrew, professor in the Department of Marketing, has been appointed as a member of the Audit Committee of The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited for one year from April 2004. • Prof. Chiu Tor Wo, assistant professor i n the Department of Surgery, has been appointed as the acting director of the Hong Kong Skin Bank with immediate effect. • Mr. Poon Kwok Man Vincent, research assistant in the Department of Surgery, has been appointed as an honorary scientific adviser of the Hong Kong Skin Bank with immediate effect. • Prof. Joseph Lau, director o f the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, has been invited to serve as a member of the editorial board of the Annals of Traditional Chinese Medicine. • Prof. Cheng Chun Yiu Jack, professor of orthopaedics and traumatology, has been elected by the Medical Faculty of Nanjing University as a concurrent professor from February 2004 to January 2007. • Prof. Lo Lung Kwong, head of Theology Division, has been appointed as honorary professor of Henan University from 19th April 2004.
