The Department of Social Work of CUHK and the Department of Social Work of Fudan University signed a memorandum of understanding on 8 March 2012 to establish stronger collaboration between the two departments to further promote academic exchange between social work teachers and students in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Besides, the annual meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Department of Social Work (2011-12) was held on 7 March. The Hon. Mr. Justice Patrick Chan, permanent judge of the Court of Final Appeal, was invited to act as the chairman of the meeting. Students shared with advisers their learning experience, and valuable feedback were collected regarding curriculum design, placement arrangement, as well as social service development and training required.
