Tang Lok-yin, a DMus (Composition) student of the Department of Music received the first prize of the Young Composer Award at the Asian Composers League Young Composers Competition held on 15 February in Victoria, New Zealand. Lok-yin beat eight prize-winning young composers from Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea to clinch the title. Her composition was entitled The Diving Tree II.
