Shaw College held its 27th Founder’s Day Celebration Ceremony on 18 January with The Hon. Mr. Justice Barnabas Fung, Court of the First Instance, High Court as the guest of honour. Mr. Fung delivered a speech on the rule of law and the community. He explained the meaning of rule of law and the importance of judicial independence. He also opined that the improvement of public understanding of the basic concepts of criminal code, civil law and public law was essential to the effectiveness of public monitoring, which could help to ensure judicial independence.
